I have an almost year old tube of ceramique i can use on a Winchester 3200.

I also got some stuff with my PC4000 Ram from geil. heres the specs on it, let me know which is better to cool a winnie.

thermal conductivity 1.729w/ m-k
thermal resistance <0.06
5% silver 5% copper

Quoted specs doesn't mean much, my guess is the arctic ceramique is better, only one way to find out...

ive heard of some homemade thermal grease. i think it was from overclockers.com,
dunno,
anyways, does anybody know about this stuff?. is it better than the retail kind?

as ceramique is only better than as5 in really cold operation.. (pelts,cascades.. ln2 etc).. in a normal water or air cooled system arctic silver 5 is superior... even the company says so..

anywyas about your question, read the specs of as5 for instance

Thermal Conductance: >350,000W/m2 °C (0.001 inch layer)
Thermal Resistance: <0.0045°C-in2/Watt (0.001 inch layer)
Average Particle Size: <0.49 microns <0.000020 inch

as for can see the resistance is .0045 vs .06...

thats technically a 5.5 C difference (on a 100watt cpu) if nothing else were to matter between them..

and well lol one conducts a lotload More than the over

I put the arctic silver ceramique on this morning and i have been "burning it in" all day long while watching football. here is my findings with the setup identical. This is all with the stock cooler that came with the 3200 Winnie.

With stock cooler and thermal pad/grease (retail)

Idle 39c and Load 55c

With Stock cooler and Ceramique applied per AS website

Idle 23c and Load 42c

Now i dont know about you, but i think that dog will hunt....lol...

All idle temps were taken after sitting on desktop for 1 hour doing nothing, using MSI core center.

All load temps were taken as the highest temp reported by core center while running SuperPI 32m. It has not gone over 42c at all, and in fact wont even go over 41c now. The 42c was about 4 or 5 hours ago. The longer i run, the better it cools. Now its under load at 40c...i love it.

Even more impressive to me is the fact that my heater is on and although it may only be 73f in my house, the heat vent blows from the ceiling towards my CPU where it sits.
