I'm not sure what rolot is.. anyway, 1800C is hot eneough to braze, you should use silfoss15 brazing rods or standard brass brazing rods + flux. If that doesnt work you can use silver solder + flux and a propane torch.
It's not flowing because it's the wrong stuff. THe copper pipe shouldn't need to be red hot while brazing.

rolot is a rod to braze chappoer, it go liquid @750°....

i use mapp, and it gets the pipes red, and the braze flows nicely. try using braze made specifically for copper, or use high silver content stuff

Ditch the rolot m8 - its crap, sounds like you got some of the rolot brass based rods, i got those with my oxy-acet rothenberger kit i got off ebay....and by god r they useless rods, i could barely braze anything with them.

would it be able to hold the pressures? mabey it will crack because of the vibrations in the system? :) im sure this has been covered before.

Electronics/Plumbers soft solder joints are very weak in comparison to brazed joints, both mechanically and pressure wise. The brazing filler used in brazed joints is usually stronger than the 2 things being joint, where soft solder is just that - soft, can break apart with stress, bending etc

No need for flux when brazing copper to copper.

No need for flux when brazing copper to copper.
If your using self fluxing rods like silfoss..no
When brazing copper - steel it's usually a good idea.

flux doesn't block ossidation????
15% best for copper to copper and very strong
make sure you clean flux off well or it goes green (copper)

15% works well but it's kind of expensive.. 5% silfoss is ok for most stuff, but it doesnt flow as well as the 15%.

Why you don't take normal copper/phosphor brazing rods? These are cheap and easy to work with.

guys, i simply wants the more easy to work with :D
I think I want a mapp tourch for christmas. My damn oxy tourch eats oxy like a fat kid at the all you can eat.

the rods, dont use rolots use the brass rods with flux coating
they will flow well

I found that MAPP is only as good as propane when brazing. I usually use this stuff in a black can from canadian tire that is 1760'C.

i bought a propane torch and some 40% silver content self fluxing brazing rods and it was impossable to heat the pipes up hot enough to melt the rod. I am going to take the system and all the parts over to the shop and use the oxy-acetelene torchs and see how that goes....

I have a propane turbo tofch and I have pretty much done all my brazing with it. It isnt any good for working on tight places since the torch itself is kinda big and the flame need to be very big with it. With evaps I need to heat the whole block on a gas stove and ad heat with this torch to get the thing hot enough but for copper or stainles tubes it works. My torch is Rothanberger Turbolöetset and it connects to a large propane botle. Works with phos/co and silver solder. Actually I practiced braxing copper to stainles yesterday with 40%rods and white flux and it was easier than I thought it would be:) As long as the surfaces are clean(I used isopropanol) and the gaps between the parts are small it was easy. Filling bigger caps with this stuff is whole another story tough;) For copper to copper joints I use mainly 2-5% rods that are dirt cheap and easy to use.
Heres a few pictures of the torch in use. It has many different tips and the one in these pictures is the biggest one.

i still reckon that a map gas torch is a really good option.
i can braze everything i need to with it, bottles last foreva.
i dont even run the map gas bottel flat chat.
even a cascade could be build with a map gas torch.
and they are so cheap

Get the mapp. Those propane/butane torches are on the limit of usable/useles in brazing.

Thats just with propane? Where'd you get the torch? I've got tons of propane that I use for preheating, but never managed to braze with it.

The only MAPP torch I have found here costs 100€. Gas botles 17€
I got this P/O torch but dont recomend anything simeilar to anyone. The oxy runs out in 5 minutes if the flame is big enough. cost me 120€ and every new oxy botle costs 10€

The torch is Rothenberger Turbolötset http://www.elektronik-produkte.com/kategorie_8/produkte_2/825752.html
It isnt actually mine but I have had it for like 6 months now... I can get the basic stuff done with it but it aint the best thing... MAPP might even be better.
