Memory Questions

I will be getting some new ocz memory soon, and I am torn between the VX gold and the 3200plat rev2.

My cpu will hit 2500mhz (all info is in the sig), so I can run it at 10x250, 9x278 or 8x312. Those are my only choices. The memory controller willl go up to those speeds as far as I know. I tested it up pretty high on the mobo and all was well. So my questions is will i get better performance with tight timmings with the vx at 250 or with looser timmings at 278 with the tccd. I would ask about the 312mhz, but that is kind of obvious where the performance gain is there. but somehow i doubt i will be able to hit 312 on the memory unless i got very lucky, which i dont often do.

I would go for the VX, the tighter timings are always nice, and if you are lucky, you can reach 278 with them. :D

lol... 278 with the vx... thats funny. hell if i oculd get 278with the vx with 2-2-2-10 timmings i would probably be able to sell them for 400 bucks lol..

Most people are getting to at least DDR500 2-2-2 with about 3.2-3.4V, if you're going to cool the memory properly and willing to give it that much voltage, its definitely the way to go on an AMD system right now :toast:

I've heard good things about the VX, just like thephenom and hijohn89 said. You could also try mushkin black level 2, but I dont kno if that would be much better

What kind of highs are people hitting with the VX? What I am curious is with 512x2 what it hits. I am able to hit 270+ with mine at 2.5-3-3-0 @ v2.9...
