ok here is a hyperthetical situation

setup 1 i am running memory that is 1t 1:1 @ 200 @2,2,2,5

setup2 then i run same mem @ 1t 1:1 @200 2.5,3,3,7

ran a benchmark 3dmark01

setup 1 gets a score of 21790

setup 2 gets a score of 21260

i difference of 500 - 600 marks

if i was to raise fsb on both setups upto 260 fsb would the diffence in score still only b 500 - 600 marks.

hyperthetical examples
eg setup1 25750
eg setup 2 25220
even tho cpu and htt and mem are running much higher speeds would the gains still only remain the same???

the gains will increase the higher you go.

I dont think its a linear progression though

it doesn't seem like much but lets look at your numbers

21,790 is approx a 3% increase over the 21,260

at 2.4 ghz AMD thats a 72 mhz increase in speed for a 3% increase
at 3.6 ghz Intel is a 108 mhz increase if both scale 1:1

going from a single to a RAID config. is about 3-5% increase

Pifast 45 secs run with a 3% loss is a 1.35 sec loss

to get a 100% increase or doubling of speed in a computer takes alot of different parts going fast not just one part.

********edit ***********

Pifast tests for refference ram 1:1 T1 3-3-2-8

250*10 = 50.25 secs
200*10 = 62.89 secs
200*6 = 97.03 secs
200*5 = 115.36 secs
