Hi peeps,
not posted for a while no more internet connection
:(
Anyhow I have a 3200+ which ive had for a little while now and its stable with the default cooler at 2.5ghz with arnd 1.5volts. Ive been waiting an age for a socket 939 adapter for my LRWW which I cant wait to strap on.
So what im trying to find out is if there are any peeps out there who have tested there winnies preferably 3200+ with default cooler. Im hoping the chip acts well when the temps are dropped i really hope its got at least 2.7ghz in her!

after i switched to XP-90 + 120mm fan i saw ZERO difference in OC comparing to BOX cooler.
i had my Winnie 3200+ at exaclty same speed as i have it now... full stability @ 2650Mhz, all benchmarks @ 2700 ;)

Nice chip u got there,
what voltage did u test your chip with with the default cooler? Looks like my hopes arnt going to be fulfilled

almost to the max - 1.80v thru CoreCenter which is about 1.74v REAL with a multimeter. that's what i need for 265x10 to be Prime stable although for benches i use 1.64v @ 270x10...
temps were 64C Prime95 LOAD :) ...
with XP-90 i have 7C cooler CPU if MSI diode temps can be trusted ;)

OMG 1.5v @ 2.5ghz? My do it on 1.4v. 2700mhz is the highest superpi round I made with the boxed cooler. Think I can do atleast 2.8ghz with SLK+Vantec.

thanxs for the info,
Ive managed to boot into windows at 2.7ghz with just over 1.7volts but was nowhere near stable. Looks like im just going to have to wait till the adapter shows up.
Come on coolercases(uk), kick dtek into gear or get the custom brackets sorted

I have a week 0437 winnie and I am watercooling it with a Corsair Hydrocool200ex. 100% stable at 2500 1.625 Vcore. DDR333  Can't run it 1:1 with the Corsair at any setting.
I am waiting for some better RAM because my Corsair chokes for some reason around 220 ???
The Abit AV8 like all the other mobos is very perticular to RAM
Heat really goes up with higher Vcore, more so than Barton's I think.

yea, it gonna be good to know what the winny can do whit stock HSF
for people like me from a :banana::banana::banana:ing country where this things are really expensive.... its good to know
can we extend it, and people post result obteined whit ahy winny, says.. 3000/3200/3500?
and post please sys temp, proc temp idle and under load, room temp, and any other relevant information
thanks guys :toast:

This was from the Winchester OC thread; I threw out a few of the higher ones that didn't show any real proof of stability. There are probably some dupes in this thread already:

It's not a 3200+, but it was good until it died. Retail AMD-boxed HSF.

connected up and all way stabile at 1.8v its not a problem but after that i was using boxcooling above 1.8v its way to unstable to work with the temp goes up about 20% to 70 that is not good for an amd but the draw back is that they dont go well wtih subzero.....

Thanxs for that info,
it seems that peeps are roughly getting arnd 2300-2500 mhz stable with reasonable voltages. Still waiting for the adapter, will post back my results once that arrives. I think i should be happy with the chip I have got. Its no wonder chip, but is a reasonable overclocker.

Ok i have some news to update,
Ive managed to hook up my waterblock thanxs to xgman thread :). Only wish id searched earlier neat trick reversing the plastic retention bracket, heheee.
Anyhow, ive got my rig set up at 270x10, its not prime95 100% stable. Im using 1.70-1.72 volts at the moment trying to coax it to be stable with that voltage, look to be losing out though may have to max out the voltage on this puppy.
At full load after several hrs using CPU burn in my load temp is 50-52C, idle is between 33-35C. The main difference i have noticed about using the block is cooler tempertures, as to an increase in overclockabilty i would say it only gives me abt 800mhz.
From what i have read abt these chips I would say that only cooling these processors with xtreme methods will bring great improvments to the overclockabilty of these chips. I have seem many peeps going from default air cooling to good aircooling and not really gaining much except for lower temps.
Im now in search of information on what voltage/load temp is reasonable for watercooling, my mobo maxes out at 1.75-1.78 volts which i think would be safe to run 24/7 to give me 270x10 100% prime stable.
All in all a decent chip, this is far from being a wonder chip, they seem to be few and far between. Hopefully the next revision will bring me the 3ghz i crave, but then i would have another problem, finding ram that can do 300mhz 1:1
;)

that will be the hardest thing to find imo :D

Ok managed to drop my load temps by 10C :) but it hasnt made a difference to the mhz speed the chip can attain. Ive noticed one thing though maxing the vcore voltage out stop the comp from booting.
Maybe my PSU only using a cheapo 550w qtec, maybe chip dont like voltage.
What do peeps think?
