Hey,

I currently have a salt water fish tank set up and over this coming Summer will need to chill the tank water. Commercial tank chillers are way to expensive, and I thought that if a chiller can be built to cool a cpu than perhaps one could use a similar set up for pumping chilled water into my tank. I am wondering If anyone could give me any advice concerning this topic. I require my tank to be around 25 degrees celsius.
Regards,

A normal chiller should work, but you'll wanna circulate the water after the filtering stage through an evap in a seperate tank. If the evap is just sitting right in your fish tank you'll have a massive cold spot. Also, you'll want to start with an A/C unit that has electronic temeperature control, place the temp probe in the fish tank, and permanently set it for 25 degrees C.
