Well, my dad was just over here at the house looking at the chiller I am about to build, he said that AC Units suck energy like a :banana::banana::banana::banana:... So, since I wont need chilled water with my computer just running Idle at night, could I turn off the chiller, and still have the water circulating through the system? Also, what is a good pump for Chillers?
And would there be any difference in cooling between 1/2 ID and 3/8 ID with a chiller? Thanks a bunch guys, peace... :toast:

If you have some sort of radiator on your chiller tank then you should be fine. However, this will also work to warm your tank when your're running at really cool temps. Eheims are good pumps. I'm assuming 1/2" ID might allow antifreeze to run more freely. Good luck.

AC units do draw a fair chunk of power. You could probably turn the chiller off for a couple hours, but it would depend on the size of your res, and also if you chip(s) will be stable when the temps rise a bit.

if your gonna go to the expense of a chiller, go iwaki. they are unbeatable. the md20rzt is the best. It can be had at customaquaitcs for 170 bucks.
The ac units suck as much power as phase change units. Its like running an extra fridge or running a window air conditioning unit. They work exactly the same way.
And running a rad with the chiller unit is a bad idea. it will hurt temps and flow. but if you have to have it, make sure to turn off the fans and also to seal up the rad from outside air when u have the chiller on.

I love this :banana::banana::banana:... Holy cow, Now I need my window mods, new wireless keyboard and :banana::banana::banana:, chiller and Im good... lol... Enough of me going off topic... Im gonna go over to my friends house tomorrow and pick me up a Window AC Unit... I will post pics, and start building this baby...
