Which part of the process is giving you trouble? Same way you got it on only in reverse. Once you've unscrewed the head you pull it off. Nice steady pulling and the seal string starts to come un stuck. Picture your shoe coming of the pavement after stepping in some gum. It just pulls and shreds.

Put the screws back into the socket kit, for leverage, pinch them together and pull it off.The other plastic bracket pieces you just have to pull them off pretty good. You can use wads of seal string to help pull off remnants that won't come off. For me only the back was a PITA. I had to use a credit card to wedge in there but I imagine you'd still want to be careful. I had excess seal string there because I used two strips: one to mount the thing like you're suppossed to and also around the gap between the neoprene and rubber back backing. Wasnt using the heater so I wanted to play it safe. I'm thinking the more seal string you used, the bigger headache you will have now.

Once you have the head off I'd unmount the board from the case right away, if you got one. :p:

and I thought I need to get the Socket A kit off the cooling head, otherwise it won't fit ?!

the socket A kit doesnt actaully go on the head, it goes on the MB and allows the heat to mount to it...

the socket A kit consists of 3 pieces, the motherboard heaterpad backplace (which isnt bolted to anything, just stuck on) the socket bracket, which locks into the hooks on the sides of the socket that normal heatsinks attach to, and a plastic spacer that goes around the socket and the bracket plate. the mach head has holes in it, which the threads of the socket bracket go into, and scrwes go through the head into the bracket. the socket A mounting assembly does not get put on the head and then the socket. the kit gets put on the socket and then the head is screwed down to the bracket...
(i hope that's not too confusing)

I tried it already, this one screw makes it impossible for me to fit the head exactly on the a64, about a half cm is uncovered of the IHS !
