View Full Version : First T.E.C cooled system
Well... going to be at least. I am going to over clock some socket A chips (dad owns comp store so have many to spare) and I have a peltier... by itself, and I was wondering if I should just have it touch the core directly or should I put a copper block on either side and a fan on top...(which im sure is the right way). Also I know I need insulation... so for the insulation what should I use.. thanks :)

You should definitely use a cold plate with Pelt. As for fan... Man, this won't work, do not waste your time with cooling Pelt with fan.

the only way I know to do air cooling with a pelt, is with a Swiftech MCX462+T.
its a 226 watt air cooled pelt, mix that with a tornado 80-92mm fan, and you can get by alittle.
it's not nearly as effective as watercooling a pelt, and the heatsinks gets burning hot, so don't touch it, when the pelt is in action...
all attempts I have with air cooling a pelt so far, have been a disaster, when actually used on a CPU :(
