The price difference is significant, and this processor is to be used mainly for OCing. Its gonna be paired up with the DFI 875p lanparty board (unless someone can suggest a better OCable 775 board)
The 3.6 has the better stepping I think, but its $$$$ more. Does the 3.4E OC decently on good air cooling or watercooling?

I had a DFI 875T about a month ago, with a 3.4E, it did 4.2 ghz easy, and 4.05 ghz everyday stable.
on air.
these 775's definatly OC well, just avoid those junk motherboards, like the 915 and 925 and you should do fine for stability.

excellent, id LOVE to not have to get a 3.6 to break 4ghz. I know 4ghz isnt much by todays standards, but its a big thing to me :).
sooo......a 3.4E LGA775 and THIS board

should be good?
First ill play around with stock cooling (and my duct mods and A/C stuff) then Ill do water. I have watercooling parts, but all my blocks are socket A.

yes thats me.
if I like something alot, I try to put reviews on it.
if I really hate something, I try to leave reviews on it.
unfortunatly newegg censors my posts when I don't like something, so I rarely get those posted...

hehe anyway
ok so ill just get a 3.4E and the DFI board then. The 3.6 is too expensive.

Actually the 3.4 LGA775 has a greater power output than the 3.2E 775 but the same as the 3.6. So if you dont want a high vcore without relative performance, either get the 3.6 or the 3.2 because they will perform better. Case in point: try finding a review of a Intel 550/J and you'll be unpleasantly surprised....THERE ARE BARELY ANY.

wait so youre saying from a pure OC standpoint I should get the 3.2E instead? the 3.6 is out of the question due to price.
