Well, the ones that you can buy are overpriced, bulky, and lack capacity. If you want to make something small you need to make it yourself, a 1/4hp compressor is about right.

a 5200btu window mounted aircon unit should suffice for liquid chilling, nice and small too, and only around $50 for the cheapest!

so ther no 1200 btu unit avaliable or close to that size? or any alternatives (portable fridge compresor) or dc fridge compresor ???

i have a beer fridge and this 1 uses TEC cooling, but i think theres some that dont

chilling water with TEC-based coolers is a bad idea, it's really inefficient and power-hungry.

A typical frige is going to be around 1/4 or 1/5 HP. A minifridge will be around 1/8 and a watercooler will be 1/10 or 1/12. 1/5 or 1/4 is probably the sweetspot for performance/power ussage since they use very little power, but pull down time will be pretty long with a small compressor. Shouldn't matter if you never switch the machine off :)
