I bought a Dell computer for one of my friends. It's a P4 1.8 dimension 2300. As an overclocker, I just want to see what 1.8 inside this little box before I hand in this computer to my friend.

Hmm a C1 SL6LA. So I took it out and switched with my 2.53 B0 whcih has been running at 3GHz for 2 months. First test was amzing: "IT CAN DO 3.2GHz AT DEFAULT VOTAGE"

Right now I am running prime almost an hour at 3.3GHz with 1.6V(mbm reads 1.55V) completely stable. I will give her 1.7V which is the max my motherboard can provide later to see if she can break 3.5GHz.

Now I am thinking I will give my 2.53GHz to him and keep this baby since he is not an overclocker

My friend, that is excelllent OCing and even more excellent luck:p My friend has a Dell, maybe I should go over and check out if he has a C1. Thpse benchmarks are excellent, and to run prime at that sort of OC, well done :toast:

Welcome to Xtreme too:)

Better dont cause he will yank it in a waterchiller and run 3V past the poor chip :stick:

None of the pictures work, becase the file names are C:\Documents and Settings...When you're putting them up you have to delete the path and just keep the filename, then upload the pics to your hosting and it should work.

its a shame that

- its a one-in-a-thousand chip ;)
- an 18x multiplier is too low :( ...

Aside from that its a killer overclock, better than most 2.8's can manage!

That chip would do 220fsb+ in a prommy..dual ddr440 anyone...i know i would.:)

TI see you fixed the images :) Well done again, you got yourself a nice chip there. And Bigtoe I doubt that thing could almost do 4ghz even though it can do 3.5 on air...It just doesnt sound right!

Thanks Bushboy

I am a total newb in the html world; it took me a while to finally figure how to get it done.

I am too poor to afford a prommy. Hope the price will drop to the range of $300-400 next year then I can test this baby's true overclocking potential. Anyway for a 3.5GHz everyday use computer, I cannot complain much about it.

the problem, however, is that 220 1:1 isnt going to work :(
Maybe if you supercool your north bridge and boost the I/O voltage to unhealthy levels...

Theres no such thing as unhealthy levels;)

Just push it till your house burns down, God will welcome you with open arms;)

Congrats on the Overclock (as I go to peer inside my friends Dell)
