I wonder how's the performance with P4EE 4.36 and Vapo+Socket 775 cpu kit?...

Is this better than Asus's new 925XE motherboard?
I hope we will see benchmark result for 925XE chipset soon. On the otherhand, all the reviews for 4.36 weren't good, but all mostly used air cooling. It will be interesting to see it pushed to the max with phase changer.

If they'd just oc the darn thing with a good air cooler XP-90 or XP-120 you'd begin to see whether there was anything to like in these chips.
Hope to see something out there somewhere :)

True, the question how far the 925XE chipset and the 3.46 can be overclocked is unanswered so far. I have read maybe 10 reviews. All were with the Intel 925XE reference board, and none was attempting to seriously oc the 3.46. The INTEL D925XE anyway allows only to overclock the system bus by 10%. And some of the reviews, such as from {H} were anyway wrong (I don't know what they tested).

Hmmm....At $249, its cheaper than the Dothan Mobos, So not bad for next gen 925.

I decided there was more mileage to be gained by taking a normal 3.0E and bringing it up to 1066 or better than to worry about how well the 3.46EE goes.
The basics though are good in the XE chipset, 64 bit ability, 1066 bus either through oc or when there is a good chip @ that speed to run it at, solid stability, etc.
And I'd bet that the smithfield chips will at least run on it to boot, so could just get a cheapo P4E now and wait till then and just drop in a better cpu, or save the cash now and leave as is if it oc's well.
All good things really :)
