I finally got my A/C unit but now I need a way to record my temps. Since there are literally thousands of digital temperature readers what kind would you guys recommend? Line of sight (laser/IR) or fixed? Does anyone think a particular brand is better. I'm looking for a reader that's more of a tool than a temporary solution. Thanks for the help.

u want one that uses K or J type thermocouples
for $40-50 on ebay u can get a fluke 52, for $100 at john stone u can get a UEI DT200, which is nice

Preferably you want one with T-Type thermocouples. K and J type are good also, but if you want the best T-type is the way to go.

The Flukes have some cool data logging and interface capabilities, while the UEI DT200 accepts two probes for simultaneous readouts. Can you get UEI DT200's without PC interfacing capability (their site is currenty under construction)? It's also interesting that the Flukes are more expensive yet have fewer probes. Are the Flukes higher quality? Thanx.

Ok, the Fluke 54-II does support two probes and comes with two K-Type thermocouples. That should do for now, I can always grab some T-Type later. What is the exact advantage of the T-Type? Thanx
