Hey Guys

I dont understand what the F is going on. here we go

With my FX-53 i can run FSB 270 on my 2*256 PC3200 Ballistix with 3.0V on the AV8 1:1 2,5-3-3-6(8)

The 3500+ will go to 2700 mhz 100% bench stable with divider, so for sure its not the cpu

But when i change CPU to 3500+ or 3200+ 0.09 i cant get the Ballistix stable past 230 nomatter what timings or volt

Is this a known issue??????? Is it the mem controler on the 0.09 that dont like micron chips?????

Its excactly the same when i try my 3700EB´s works with fx-53 but not any 0.09 cpu´s

BIOS is uptodate (ver 1.6)

PLEASE help guys this is crazy

I RMA'd a pair of 1GB ballistix PC4000 modules cos they won't do it's rated 250MHz @2.5-4-4-10 at all, got a refund and just opted for Samsung Original PC3200 (TCCC), don't expect them to overclock that well but sure damn more reliable and over 50 bucks cheaper...

I dont think its the memory a fault in SIOUX's case...

4#

But the 0.09 micron cpu´s is only surported with BIOS 1.5 and up. So i think choosing that BIOS will just course me a BSOD.

Do you have any experience with BIOS 1.4, AV8 and 0.09 ??? as far as i know it would´nt work.

6# if you dont think that RAM is the problem, what then ??? the setting are EXCACTLY the same as on the FX-53. the only difference is the 0.09 and 0.13 micron. so if thats not a compatility problem, then i dont know????? please share with us what you think it is then

The memory worked perfectly with your FX + A8V and did not work with your Winchester + A8V. The variable is the CPU, not the memory...

I've had problems too with my mem when I got a winnie running on the Asus K8V. That board is picky with the mem, but with the winchester on it was even worst.

With a 3500+ I got 250 out of my tccd's. With the winnie I couldn't even get 201 stable. System crashed after 10 secs in windows...

I know its the CPU. My tread is "0.09 dont like micron"

and what i mean by that is that the CPU have problems with micron chips. so the CPU is the problem:)

But i was "hopping" that others had the same problem, and maybe had found a solution to this.

No worries :)

I think your guys' problems all stem from the fact that this is a newer process, and like anything else in the PC world 1 thing always remains constant: early adopters always get screwed.

I bet if you guys would've waited a month or 2 for the motherboard manufacturer's to release proper BIOS's for these new chips and for AMD to work out the kinks in thier process none of you would be having oc'ing issues ATM.

My apologies too, thought he was using an MSI board instead of the Abit... :)
