I have a 2.4C on a Epox 4PCA3+ with 2X256 Mushkin 3500 BL2 memory. Max OC stable is 275 FSB at 5:4 DDR440 2 2 2 5. The bios limits me to 2.9 vdimm and the DDR booster wont work on this mobo. :( I was considering switching to some Gskill or similar TCCD memory since it really doesnt require the high vdimm the BH5 does. Think this would be a worthwhile swap? What would be the best to get for a dual channel intel?

It all depends or your 2.4c. How high does she clock? If it does 285+ do the swap. If it tops around 280fsb just keep what you have running with the divider. I was in your shoes not too long ago with the exact same situation. :)
edit* if you do the swap you should look into PDP XBL, OCZ, PQi, GSKILL
They all have pretty great TCCD at reasonable prices.

I considered the Patriot 2X512 at Newegg but how much would it hurt my OC going with a gig instead of 2X256?
My 2.4C doesnt set the world on fire I think 285 is it on the 3:2 divider and thats giving it 1.7 Vcore on water......

is it for benching or gaming? gaming needs a gig and it owuld reduce oc by about 15%

2x512 won't hurt your overclock at all. A good set of TCCD can do 275mhz(550DDR) DC without a problem at low voltage.

Ok so maybe with the TCCD I could do alot better 1:1 Overclock? Thats really what I was shooting for if anything. Getting lower voltage memory that might do DDR 500-550 or so at 1:1 insted of going 5:4 but wait then will that be with relaxed timings compared to my 2 2 2 5 mushkin?.....Arg! :stick:
Umeks pic shows DDR 530@ 2.5 2 2 so if I could achieve 265 1:1 then it should blow away my 275 5:4 overclock now shouldnt it? Losing 10 on the frontside but running the memory at a additional 90 mhz but losing some cas latency? :confused:

He's running single channel in that picture. Not dual. You will have to relax timings. Anything above 250mhz you'll most likely be running 2.5-3-3-7 in dual channel.

It's my show time...
All done by GS TCCD...@ Vddr 2.65V
It is a must to see my siganature....if you desire correct TCCD performance @ 875chipset ...
Recently a pair of Kingmax Hynix D5..@ Vddr 2.85v ....showed as follows..

Hynix D5 RAMs were worthy OCing till now...

So that is TCCD in your sig James? 2.5 4 3 5 @ DDR572 would be sweet although my 2.4C probably wont go 286......What kind of bandwith scores you get with that?

My 2.4CG can go upto
295x12=3.54G @ prime95 Pass...
300x12=3.6G @ Pi 32M Pass...
Some FSB OCing limits came from your mobo NorthBridge...so consider fine colloing for that...^__^

You mean switching to a P4C800E D? :) That what you are on?

No, i mean fine cooling fan for NB sometimes provide better overclock even on any mobo...
Of Course, Asus P4C800-D, Abit IC7-Max3, Epox 4PDA2V, Albatron PX875pro...
all nice mobo ( especially focus to BIOS options )...@ your choice
