I tried 5 or 6 times without any luck. Then once I learned my wife was pregnant with our first... I quit for good. :shrug: It was a really strange experience. The first few times I could put my fist through the wall if someone just looked at me wrong but that last time was different. I knew I had to and I just did it.

I really think once your mind is ready for it... it just happens.

In the past 5 years I've had 4 or 5 cigarettes. Two of those were when I had to burry our dog a few years back and the others were when I had an old friend come into town and we had a few beers around the camp fire. ;)

7th on Xmas,well why not,next week i have my beloved a64+dfi back from rma and maybe a second a64 mobo for the other a64 3200+ cpu that maybe still works,i hope.

So thats 2 a64 rigs that tributes to the cruncing,i think i will have +-300points to ad every day.

My goal is to go over FUGGER,he toke my 20th place and i won it back ;) :p: and i will :stick: .

But the last few days my xp-m rig dos'nt do that good,normal its 130/150 points i make but now its only 110/120,and i dont know watts the problem.

All of the stats pages have us making seventh right before Christmas... BUT The stats are all off because of MaZeR's hop to the team. That pushed our "daily average last week" to 15178.4 points-per-day. That's 5,000+ over what it should be. This is what all of the stats pages use to calculate our conquest stats. So in 5 days that will go back to normal and we will see where we are.

So this isn't going to be a "keep doing what your doing kind of thing� If we do that then we might not even hit 10th. We will seriously need to step it up... If anything our daily production has been slipping :( We haven't even touched our record high day we set on the 4th of Nov... Like it or not there has been a slow down in production here as of late...

I'm tellen ya... if we all want 7th then it's going to earned!

Before Mazer joined the team we would have been 10th at 28 december, he got us 35000 points more so this should be ~3.5days so normally we should make it untill christmas :)

Personally... I'm at about maximum capacity here at home. The electric bill for November and December are probably going to get me close to being kicked out of the house by wifey. Winter is hard for my farm because the furnace fan runs 24/7... the humidifier runs 24/7... the Christmas lights(yes... they are Xtreme) dim the neighbors lights when they are on... and we are in the house watching the boob-tube more(which means the wife and kids leave every light in the house on). ;) Factor all these together and the electric bill goes up by 2x what it "normally" is. :rolleyes:

Beleive it or not I have left the basement window open a crack all winter for the past 3 or 4 years. The past couple years I've had one or two nVentiv Mach1's running and they really did heat this place up. The AMD setups I had before that also put out a pretty good amount of heat. This year I may have to change though... the Xeons really do run alot cooler. I've noticed already that when it gets below 30F/0c outside... the basement is a little cool. :eek:

i'm getting another setup by Christmas. it's rather to play with and benchmarking (A64 S939 Winnie + Neo2) than strict docking but as soon as i get settled with it i make it work hard for D2OL...
as for electric bill in my case it's funny. because i've been running my farm for almost two months and a difference between Before and After i started is just $25. my kill-a-watt meter for the farm shows 670 Kw/month (x $0,13 = $87) which leads me to the conlcusion that PG&E estimates usage rather than checking meter every month. btw, i haven't seen the PG&E guy for ever. the meter is in a garage but from the ouside one can see only first 3 digits of it. so it seems like i may be able to add something more without worring about the bill.... at least for now... :)

Well Ive changed my PIII733 bit torrent box to a sempron 2200+ thats doing 9*200 at default voltage with cakky cooler, that says its averaging about 84 a day. My main rig is a winchester 3200+ @ 10x245 on stock cooler just burning in, that does about 8 hours a day. So Im averaging about 250 a day now up from 130.

Once you sign on... click the "My Nodes" link and then the "Add Node" button. You should see your newly installed node there waiting to be added. ;)

Then you are under the community account... If you want to crunch under your own account then follow these steps :D

First you have to stop the XS_D2OL service(s) in the Service manager and kill the Gridwin.exe or Dockwin.exe process(s) in the task manager.

Then delete the Node.prp file in the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL1\D2OL\res".

Then you can go to the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL1\D2OL" folder and start "D2OL.exe". This will start the program as normal and you will be asked to register your node.

(Repeat these steps for each node substituting "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL2....." For the folder paths if you have more than one node.)

PS: is it normal that initializing it takes a LONG time to do?

It can take around 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 min to calculate the docking grid for all 20 Conformers. After that it should only take a couple of min to dock each Conformer. It can take about 25 -> 30 min to finish a Candidate (Which = 20 Conformers).

Yeah, 7th seems like a little bit of a dream right now. Our output has increased to 10,500-10,900 per day but it hasn't increased in the past week or two. Seems like some people have increased their output :) while others have stopped producing :(.

Maybe we can do a little word-of-mouth drive to get more people involved? :confused: Don't really know what else to do to be honest.

those A64 Winchesters are really nice at "docking" :) i just built another setup, my first A64 S939 machine...
it's running at 270x10=2700MHz @ DDR540 6-2-2 cas2. i've being testing it for about two days now and after 2days7hours it produced ~397 cands :slobber:
thats about 175 cands/days.... very nice, don't you think ? :)

The more nodes you have the faster you make candidates but for one node (or one computer) that runs 24h a day about 100-175 (AMDXP/AMD64/P4).

Just donate your computer skills to those who are less fortunate. ;) Then add the D2OL service and tell them whatever you like... most of the time the truth works just fine. :D (most probably because they don't really understand mumble... which is my first spoken language) :lol:

this really suxx that for such a young team, 34% (26 out of 76) of the members haven't had any output within the last 7 days AND 20% (15 out of 75) haven't produced anything within past month :(
is there anything we can do to fix that? do you guys have any ideas?

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is just remind people once in a while that our team is doing this project and that we can always use all the help we can get. We can also throw out our ranking(which is about to hit #11 btw) and push the "Xtreme Pride" aspect of being apart of such a great team. I am very proud of this team and the members on it. I think we have shown and continue to show our professionalism and overall good nature. I personally like being associated with a team that can get along with other teams and more importantly ITSELF. And I very much like the fact that we have such a strong core. Most of the active people have shown that they have the drive to stay active. And those who are just starting up have shown enough enthusiasm so far that I have a hunch they will still be around in 3 months. ;)

What I don't think we should do is push ourselves onto anyone. Or try to make those who have moved on already feel bad that they aren't crunching anymore. People do what they do because of personal reasons and unless you are a close friend or family member it's hard to come across the right way and motivate them the way you want them to be.

I think if we just keep our positive attitudes and our team spirit up, things will all fall into place nicely... hell... we are already the #12(or is it #11?) team in the world and we've only been going at it for a few months. ;)

Jeff, i just think that we should shoot bunch of PMs and ask kindly what was their reason for stopping crunching. maybe they need some assistance. personally, i think that even if they could run D2OL 12/24 or 8/24 (overnight) then it would help A LOT.
i think we could take this up with THE CAPTAIN ;) and make it official :)

i know that it might be like spamming and stalking them but u see, if i ever stop crunching i will come here and say "sorry guys, but it turns out i won't be able to run D2OL anymore" or sth like that.
they joined because they had a reason to do so and it's sad that those people stopped withou saying why...
if there was something we could help them with then we could figure this out.
this my view of this situation... i think that it doesn't hurt to ask and if anyone gets annoyed then what we got to loose? they stopped crunching anyways...

it might be a good idea, but only for the people who haven't sent anything in, in the last 2 weeks...I was on vaction for a week at one point (before I joined) so I wasn't putting anything out.

AMD 1600(stock) and a p2 400. Lets go for single digits at least

I agree with Jeff and others... we can't force ourselves on people... it's just not cool...

We also can't "ask people why they left� Frankly... it's none of our business. That's just too intrusive.

HOWEVER! I'm not against shooting off PMs saying something like...

I've noticed that you haven't put up any conformers in some time... I just wanted to remind you that the team is still here and we could always use your support. We wouldn't want anyone in the XS organization to miss out in the opportunity of being a part of the fastest climbing team in D2OL.

Give it your consideration and we hope to see you around!

yeah that sounds fine...but again I would say at least 2 weeks before we send one off. We have to remember about people going on vaction and other events in the family. Just my opinion
