any one know when winchester will come to s754?
the fabled "d0" revision.
if theres anything i would upgrade its my cpu, and theres no other reason for me to go 939, which i wouldnt do for many months yet.
a winny on this board would own!

Keep dreamin'. Unless something drastic happens at AMD the only 90nm CPUs for s754 will be laptop CPUs (which may or may not be compatible with desktop boards), and even that has yet to be confirmed.

Stick with what you've got or spend the money on 939. You knew from the beginning that s754 would be phased out in the enthusiast market. Don't know what else to say.

Some kind of mobile or DTR Winchester for S754,with 1mb cache. That would be sweet. :D

i got 754 cause it was cheaper and dual channel doesnt improv performance enough to justify price.
imagine a .8v winny mobile!

Socket 754 is a dead end street at this point if you want over 1GB of ram, decent fsb speeds, sli, or a newer .09 cpu. :(

LOL well, I have run my Shuttle SN85G4v2 higher than 300mhz FSB =) stable and its just a NF3 150 chipset.

but yes limited sadly as it has no sli and not more than 1GB of RAM and no 90nm cpu for me =(

but I have a feeling, unless games turn into complete coding crap that my 6800NU will keep goin for a while =) HL2 in all its beauty and perfection will prove that about any future game.

90nm 754s were out before 90nm 939's! Just that they are not called Winchesters they are Oakvilles (for the mobile market)

Yes, they were launched before, but are they available retail?
