3200+...that is how the naming scheme is suppose to go anyway...

So, If I have a athlon xp 2500+ oc'd to 2.43ghZ it would basically own this thing?

Actually, if I am not mistaken, the AXP's naming scheme was based on the ammount of mhz it'd take for it to equal the Thunderbird core. So a 3200+ = 3.2ghz Thunderbird/3200mhz. Now, people commonly misinterpretted this to be how many mhz it'd take to equal a P4, but I think the A64s are closer but not perfect in comparison. I believe a 3200+ AXP is equal to a 3.0, though it has been awhile since ive been talking about AXP - P4, so that might be a bit off

So, if you have to use one or the other witch one would you use, amd athlon xp 2500+@2.43ghz, or intel p4 2.8@3.2 northwood ht?

I personally would take the Intel, they use Dual Channel memory better (provided you have it) and would perform a slight bit worse raw Processor speed-wise I think, though with better optimization of Dual channel I'd take it.

Either way I am going to guess about the same performance

Honestly, you'r right it is about the same performance. The only thing is I think the intel multitask's better.
