Hi....
I have tried looking in the forums but couldn't find anything about the same combo...
I have recently got my Asus A8V Delux rev. 2 and 3200+ winchester and OCZ EL PC3200 rev. 2
Now the cpu can do 10x250 @ 1,400v and 10x2700 @ 1,600v and I was hoping that the mem would do 265+ 2,5-3-3-8 1T @ 2,8v but it won't go over 240-245 @ 1T no matter what the timings are :(
Now my question are what do I need to replace? Is it the mobo that cannot give at stabil Vdimm (not many capacitors) or the cpu that cannot handle the high fsb or do I need to get some new TCCD ???

the A8V will max out on the htt but not until 270-280 or so
u should try lower vdimm on the tccd, mebe 2.5, 2.55, 2.6

#2 will give it at shot.... Are the Abit AV8 a better choice?

#2 btw they can do 223Mhz 2-2-2-5 1T @2,8v...

No luck.... If I lower the Vdimm it only overclock worse.... What would be the first I should replace? What is most likely to cause this bad overclock?

well ur proc hits nice speeds, i think ur mobo is limiting you
i would try a different bios first
if u want a new mobo get the MSI K8N neo2

Have tried 1007 1008 and 1009.200 beta (MUCH better at handling Vcore on winnies)
The MSI is not an option since I have to use both my XP-120 and VGA Silencer :(
Maybe I will try the Abit AV8

The combination of A8V and TCCD is crap. The asus board can't handle it. Too bad. It would have been a fine board else.
Swapped my asus for a msi :D

try to set the RAMs to 2-3-3-9-1T and 3,1Vdimm...then try again.... it might work...

#8 I feared that.... Max dual is 240 2,5-3-3-8 1T@2,6v 245 gives random errors in memtest.... single max is 250
#9 max is 2,8v
Well the MSI is not an option since I have a Xp-120 and Vga-silencer... What about a abit AV8?

hvidgaard, what conflicts are there between the XP-120 and the MSI?
the heatsink is a less important part of your system than your motherboard by FAR, id suggest if u have to, to change to a different heatsink then in order to fit a mobo that would justify your expensive ram and cpu. a $40 heatsink shouldnt prevent u from using your $400 hardware to the fullest

#11 it is possibel to fit it there but it is nessesary to bend a capacitor and I will not be able to mount the VGA Silencer.... There must be another board that likes the TCCD and oc nice

Maybe I will just wait and get a PCI-E mobo and a Winchester made with SS (acording to GeForceti4200 it would be all 3500+ made from week 45, just rumors, but worth a shot)

The proc and mem deserve a decent board, That a cooler won't fit isn't a very good reason to pass on the MSI. This board rocks :D
I'd sugest looking into another air cooler, or even upgrade to water that fits much easier and gives also better performance. (Or PhCh if you like to go Xtreme :D)

Might sell the XP-120, but still I will be waiting and see how new PCI-E overclock... lets hope that MSI does a good job again (and remember to lock all sata ports since I have 4 sata disks

Well the MSI is not an option since I have a Xp-120 and Vga-silencer... What about a abit AV8? what about an OCZ Diagnostic Booster?? Wouldn´t that nice thing work on A8V?
Oh yeah, I think AV8 is a good choice...
btw. codeword: "winchester": do they all overclock up to 2800Mhz?? I mean the 3500+...

Is listed Not compatibel(?) on ocz.com.... It is very different how winchesters overclock, some will not even do 2500@1,650 others at stock... but most 3500+ shoud reach 2500@stock...

Oskar Wu was the first to alert the world that the NF3 chipset had 2 bugs: (Has saved me no end of grief, Thanks Again OSKAR :D)
1. If changing HDT, must do complete power down.
2. External sata ports not locked about HTT of 240
(the post is around here somewhere)
Also explains why VNF250 and others only use the 2 'good'
sata ports, and why gigabyte uses the SIL controller hooked up to PCI which IS locked instead for extra ports.
Might sell the XP-120, but still I will be waiting and see how new PCI-E overclock... lets hope that MSI does a good job again (and remember to lock all sata ports since I have 4 sata disks
