View Full Version : Best watercooling components?
Ok, I want your honest no bs opinion on what are the best water cooling components. I have roughly 300-350 to spend total. No peltier stuff please. I'd just as soon do a vapochill, but i'm doing this for a school project and it'll be a better display :)
Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I believe Lytron makes the best radiators and Iwaki makes the best pumps but both are very expensive.

Mono,
Swiftech has a complete kit including pump, water block, radiator, 120mm fans, hoses, fittings and extraas!
I've seen it at about $230
It'll completely convert a standard case to w/c
Their complete turn-key Swiftech QuietPower System will run $350-400
A complete turn key Koolance about $280
have fun

I'd go for the Swifty over the Koolance.
If later down the road you do want to use a TEC swifty has a bolt on kit.

Geminicool has some great stuff as well. Their blocks are top notch if you want a spiral one.

Ditto.... actually I have... 3 Slot 1 Maze blocks, 2 GF3 blocks, 1 Chipset block, 1 Maze2, 1 Maze1c-1, and 1 Maze3... they should give me a medal or something for getting so much crap from them.

We Aussies are lucky. We have the best performing block in the world being produced right here in Melbourne. Expensive at 70USD, but for 2 - 3C above coolant temperatures, nothing beats it
muahaha :D

Nice to see Innovatek up there at number 3... We always ranked em a bit lower down ourselves as you can't really use pelts with the Rev3 block due to the circular copper core, which is too small to cover the surface area of even an 80w pelt....

but you can use the flat flow block marci to cool a pelt as i personally have used that block to cool one on graphics card

I wanted to add that I just found a LEET pump. It's called a Velocity T4... There is a T1 through T4... just diff. levels of GPH. They use titanium rotors and walls and look top quality. I just picked up a T4 for $179. Gonna use it for my cryofreezer.
lol, you guys are nuts.
Anyways, i've decided on this video block
http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=C&Product_Code=SMCW50-T&Category_Code=VCW
And this cpu block with an 80 watt tec.
http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=C&Product_Code=MAZE3-1&Category_Code=WB
The reason i'm going with such a small tec is because I wana run them both off my power supply as opposed to paying for a standalone tec power supply. I mean, if i'm not gana notice anything on the cpu with only an 80 watt tec someone tell me. But it's only 15 bucks + coldplate so why not? heh.

80W tec is not enough to cool down your P4 2.53B. If the heat output of your proc (P4 2.53 ~ 65W ?) is larger than the wattage of your pelt (80W pelt @ 12V => 60W), you'll actually have an opposite effect and toast your precious P4.
It will do fine on your vidcard though. :)
2.4b actually.
Hmm... wonder if I could use this turbogamer 420 watter to power a 240 watt pelt?
I have no problem getting this unit
http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=C&Product_Code=SMCW462-UHT&Category_Code=WB
Other then I don't want to pay for a dedicated power supply.

The best block on the market, better then the Maze 3, spiral, and even the Cyclone 5. :)
wow, looks like a nice block. I don't think he's shipping to us though? and that swiftec would prolly be a better peltier block?
You can email him and he will sell it(of course you'll need to cover shipping to your country, as he is in AUS). I've talked to the guy...very nice fella. The block is a little pricey, but by the sounds of it...well worth it :)
I think i'm just gana get a maze 3 minus the pelt now.. I can always add that later.. plus the maze is cheap :)

The brazilian made "moringa" block is one of the best as well. UaZa was telling me about that before. Looks really interesting.

I have block #10 in my hands right now. ;)
Now if only I had a decent CPU to cool with it.
