Managed to obtain these results on stock cooling.... next week I'll have more with an XP90 and the week after will be phase change cooling. Hopefully in the middle of it all.... I;ll be able to get a 925XE baord insead of this AA8 Duramax. This is with Centon DDR2 chips.

pc ice's 3 stage cascade to be exact
I've seen E0's do better on air though

Is that with stock air as well and on a 925 board?
I'm sure I'll be able to get it higher with an XP90...

thats equivelant to a A64 3000 hitting 2350
considering the stock clockspeed is so higher i would thought it woulf get higher

the % of overclock on two different cpu's really isnt comparable... especially when one is the highest clock of intel, and the other is one of the lower clocked a64's...
compare it to an FX-55 hitting 3.05ghz on air. ;)

Well I didn't do much in terms of cooling or tweaking.... so I'm not done yet. I agree though.. however, after all the A64 3000's I've had... CH or NC, 2.4 on an A64 3000+ would need cooling better than the stock heatsink. And all the winchester's I've tried just couldn't get past 2.3 no matter what.
But the 3500+ Winchester I've gotten can do 2.65 GHz on stock cooling.
So we'll see how it goes with a slight change in air cooling.
One thing's for sure... is that I'm surprised it can go even this high with a prescott on a stock heatsink (the P4 stock heatsinks really such bigtime). I've noticed a lot of people that couldn't even get their 3.6 to run stable on the stock LGA heatsink... which is probably why Intel took so long in releasing it in mass quantity.
Maybe you should try another chip.
I tried only one boxed 3.6E (SL7J9) so far and that's what I got with stock cooler out of it

(with DFI875P-T set to 1.45V + 2*256MB KHX running 2-2-2-5 + patched SuperPi!)
The Winbond Program showed 1.33V Vcore under load and a temperature around 60°.
Is there a great difference in cpu oc with 875 and 925?
I can't wait to see what your chip will do under a cascade...as this is what may happen to mine, too ;)

Your running patched PI right? ;)
yes it's patched...only to show some mhz ;)
I've a Vapo LS here but I don't get the mobo working. I think I have good CPU contact but the board is just beeping :(
I would like to see how it does with better cooling...

How do you tet SuperPi patched? and if it is... is it for better or worse?
Also... did you need to run your processor 1:1 for a better overclock? Or... I take it you are using an 865 or 875 (DFI) chipset for better overclocking.... I'm trying to stray away from those chipsets for now because I have to work with DDR2 instead of DDR1.
Also, what are your ambient temps like?
*edit* I looked below your pic and you had all the info there.... have you managed to overclock on a 925 or 915 board yet? I already know for sure the 875 chipset will overclock better... no doubt.
no had no 925 board here yet. ambient temp is around 21°.
running 1:1 really gave me another 50mhz above 5:4. Maybe because of higher Vdimm???
the patch makes the cpu score better about 2sec.

Ohh ok... cool man. THanks... you do indeed have a wondrous chip.
Any idea on the stepping?

Hi,
I've hit the same FSB wall as you have with air cooling.....
But that was on the P5AD2 Premium...
Now I have the -E version of the board and an aggressive WC setup from dangerden....
So soon I will find out just how much higher My 3.6 can go...
Oh and congrats on the OC...
SKI :toast:
As I haven't anything else than the stock cooler I tried some low voltage benchmarks ;)
The voltage you see is correct :)
It didn't go deeper than that!
32M Test (http://www.forumdeluxx.de/gallery/data/500/944932M.JPG)
Next thing is to try something <1V
Could you check whether your P4's get equal clocks? I'm thinking about an extreme cooling but don't know if the chip is worth it, yet.

Hmmnnn... yeah... I'll check it out.... give me an hour...
*edit* checked voltage options... AA8 duramax won't let me go to 1.12 voltage.
