I have an 8k9a2 & am having issues. I keep getting data corruption & forcing to recover from a image i created. I had my 8k5a2 @ 208fsb x 9.5 using an XP2200 Vcore2.0, Corsair 3200 c2 V3.0, SCSI Ultra 160 & it ran with no problems running like a CHAMP!. I installed the 8k9a2 same setttings as 8k5a2 & when trying to boot it up @ just 200 fsb x 9.5 using aggressive settings I receive " File mising or corrupt C:\windows\system32\config\system ". I am really not happy with this. I have had to re-image about 20 times already. Had anybody come across this problem as well? PLEASE HELP!! Regreting buying the board. Maybe a BIOS update will resolve the issue. Dont know.
jathlon2000,
Welcome to Xtreme :)
Have you tried lesser memory timings @ these FSB's? Perhaps the 8K9A2 is harder on the memory than the 8K5A2 ?

Thx for the reply N8! Well, yes I have set the memory less agressive & it did boot up but once I tried to set it @ 203fsb the same problem happened. My 8k5a2 never gave me this problem even when I tried @ 215 fsb.9.5. It's very unsual I think that this board is doing this. I was thinking maybe disconneting my Ultra160 scsi & installing a regular IDE drive & test again. I think my memory should handle it without a problem. What do u think? If it is my Ultra160 (which booted fine @ 210fsb on 8k5a2) then the 8k9a2 needs a bios update for us scsi users. My best friend & I have the same exact setup & he has the same issue. The highest he can get his is 198fsbx10 with agressive settings anything over causes data coruption.
Also on the Epox Taiwan site the 8k9a2 bios update is the same one for the 8k9a2+. k9a22a25. Im going to download it & try it on my 8k9a2. Ill let you know!! DO OR DIE
Let us know :)
I'd think hookin it up to regular IDE controller also might be a smart idea for now....till you rule that out anyway ;)
