I took one of my not working rigs apart the other day and turns out the motherboard is broken, everything else is fine. Does anyone have a Socket A motherboard to donate to our cause, so I can add another node ;)
I appreciate any help guys.
Thanks

What does it need to support?

It only needs to support a Tbird.

No more boot, gives a code FF. Reset CMOS and still that same. Did you ever encounter this problem Jeff?
No. :( That board was a trooper for me. :(
What processor and memory are you using? I'd try unplugging the power supply... removing the memory... and resetting the BIOS for a few minutes. Then put it all together again and see what happens.

Run memtest on it too... and flash the bios.

could also be the memory i think...
but usually ff=dead board, no? make sure its not touching the case or gets shorted somewhere else.
=']Something is telling me its the cpu go figure :(
Well... I don't have a spare one of those. ;)
Damn... figures doesn't it. I have had FF codes pop up before but it usually worked itself out. Sometimes just taking everything apart... resetting the BIOS for a long time(like overnight or at least 20 minutes or so)... and then putting it all back together would get it to clear.
What Vcore/Vdimm were you running at?

I had this to with my 8rda3+,FF code showing,do cmos reset and worked again,or take battry out for one nigt with jumper from cmos on the reset possition, but a biosflash can help also alot, try the F2 biosflash its very easy.

LOL ;)
FF = Functioning Fine :D
8RDA+ and EpoX kinda equals sh*t... I've got 2 P4 boards and 1 AMD board.
I've got another 3 P4 boards on their way. 4 P4 CPUs on their way. 2 Xeons + board once I sort out PP with Jeff. And 2 dual MP...
I've got 1x PC2700, 2x ECC REG and 1x PC3200.
Hmmm... better PM Jeff :D
It's funny... people have said EPOS instead of Epox for a while now and in the ~15-20 Epox motherboards I've had... this one was the only one that had a problem... and it was from me letting condensation drip in the AGP port. ;) I've loved all the Epox boards I've had. Some of them were quirky... but aren't all motherboards that way? ;)
And you are right... I forgot... "FF" means functioning fine according to the 8RDA/+ manual.
I'd still try resetting everything like I said above.

To be exact,FF= Boot attempt.

Nope, only after it has posted it will display "FF". Boot attempt is marked by the constant change of code on the screen.

Okay well machine now is completely disassembled and will let it sit overnight and see what happens in the morning.
I'm curious if this will come back around for you. If not... I'm very sorry. The board was running fine up until a few weeks ago when I retired it. I'll keep on the lookout for another board in case you still need one. Or if your CPU is D.E.A.D. I'll keep an eye out for one of those.
Again... sorry. :(

Oh sorry I have been busy with other stuff, joining the Army soon. Going to join as a Information Systems Operator/Analyst, maybe I can get D2OL running on all the government rigs...lol. I'll give this machine another shot sometime soon.
