I think it's a good challenge , i've seen macci doing some good 30K with his Winnie
Everybody is welcome and can compete with an (lucky) air setup.
The Rules are :
- Minimum 30000Pts at 3dmark 2001 at default settings.
- 520/560 or 600/600.
600/600 is for those lucky guys with X800 Watercooled or just lucky with their aircooled X800 .
520/560 is for the unlucky or prudent guys .
You can do Both contests if you wants :banana4:
-Register yours scores on the ORB is Required and post the link

yes , those clock aren't too hard to have.
The japanese got their 24GP, why don't we have our own 30K-GP :D ?

Is that RivaTuner? When I tried to use it with the 8.07 betas, it says there is no driver found to tweak.

i like contest ideas like this, but i think we need to have an all air cooled conitnually running contest, i think 37K is possible on air ;)

limiting the frequencies , is a good solution i think , place to optimizing !!
No enormous HSF , no finland air :D , no mods or a little , just optimisations , Massive FSB , and tight timings.
And no stress to burn your babies :banana4:
Do you think 600/600 is too much ? 580/580 is better maybe ?

Great idea :)
But the VC clockck shoud be 576/596 :D :p:
580/580 sounds great. Still need to vmod my XT PE tho. I actually hope it catches on fire. Paying 500$ for an XT PE, and all it does is 576/596.. and thats on water. Its my 4th x800, and i really feel i diserve a good one now.
Let the tweaking begin :D

Hmm.. the x800 is very powerfull in 01 compared to the rest of the system. I cant se it beeing a bottleneck if it were to run at stock XT PE speed.
Even the ones with poorly OCing VIVOs can enter. That way a lot more people can enter the contest.
Just a thought :)

600/600 is fine by me, but a few are on stock air, no volt mods, and have warranty on their cards ;) 600/600 is probably a bit too high for these "stock" cards. 520/560 is also another nice number to choose, everyone should be able to do that
EDIT: If 520/560 forces u to use the 9x multi then that gives me a fighting chance :p:

yes , it's probably real , but it's maybe wrong :D
But the most important thing is a lot of people can compete ;)
May be i should create many category 754 1mo/512 /939 1mo/512
We'll see what the competition can do , which os is the best , wich memory, the differences between socket and process 0,09 or 0,13 :toast:
And here we'll know who's the real OPTIMASTER

Yes they perform a lot better on S939 (DC makes up for the lack of cache). But just compare my 1Mb and 512kb scores. The 1Mb scores almost 3K more, while the NC is clocked 200Mhz higher and it has more memory bandwith.
As you can see I used exactly the same Catalyst drivers 2 :)

Doh, sorry guy. CPU is a de-lidded desktop 3200+ (.13), 1M L2 cache, RAM is 1x512 BH-5 @ 1t-2-2-2-5, FSB is 10x250, mobo is DFI LP 250 GB, and Cat 4.9s on Win2k. My RAM was running at 264 stable today, but the chip won't give me decent horsepower. 9x264=2376 MHz., not enough for 30k. Half multis = no boot, or I'd try 9.5. :( I'll put the beta Cats back on tomorrow, and give it another whirl. :) BTW, my VIVO @ XT PE won't do 600/600, on air, so all my entries are for the 520/560 class. :)

One of the BH5 sticks can do 280, but not the other one. Its clocks about 10Mhz lower. For 267Mhz i need 3.7v (fluctuating from 3.57-3.7) I dont think i can reach 280 even with 3.9vdimm on booster. Im not gonna kill another A64. Im tired of watching my lovedones die.
Still, if i feel up to it, i might give it another try. If I just could find some new and/or better tweaks i could have 30k @ 2500-2530Mhz or so.

you were wrong dude , 520/560 is a great contest , really hard , 600/600 is easier in fact :p: Yeah, 600/600 is WAY easier. I still can't get my FSB to cooperate, on a 520/560 run. I've had 29,6xx, but that's the closest I can get under 2500 MHz. I'm lapping my mobile 3000+, so I might still have a shot. ;)

I hope to recieve my Winchester and Msi today, and I'll do a quick 2001Se run for you guys @520/560. If the Winchester clocks over 2.5Ghz 30k is guaranteed

Still @ 600/600 your Nature beats my 291fps @ 642/624 by 1fps. I don't understand this, are you playing with memory timings on the card?
misteroadster
11-29-2004, 11:13 AM
yes , nature is memory dependant , and the timings helps.

Do I get my name in that table on the first post now :stick:
Maybe you can add the 3DMark scores in that table too, kinda hard to see what you need to beat someone.

Congrats , you are near of the but :) , is it a 520/560 run ? , and the score is not so important because to be perfect it has to be +/-30100.

Dothan running on i875 platform might do quite well in this challenge.
Take a look at The Stilt's run at 2400MHz => 32.3k (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8566966) :hehe:
Must set up my own Dothan 2001 rig this evening :D

The possibility to use i875 mobo has really given an awesome boost for Dothan 3DMark2001 speed. For instance w/ i855 mobo, 639/639 card clocks and 2.7GHz Dothan speed Drago low would give only a bit over 500FPS - now The Stilt scored over 600FPS on Drago low w/ 2.4GHz and 600/600 card. Over 100FPS faster w/ lower CPU&Card speed ;)

Did my first Dothan 1.6G+P4C800 run w/ X800XTPE at stock clocks. CPU at 12x200 1:1 2-2-2-5. Score = 32120 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8567481) :D
And this is w/ windowsXP and zero tweaks, just installed it.
FX55 @2.6GHz (13x200) w/ 1GB of RAM, same video card and full Win2000 tweaks got basically an identical score (32185).
So it looks like Dothan is equal to FX55 even w/ 200MHz lower clockspeed ;)

Ok, here is the lowest CPU MHZ for 30k I could get w/ Dothan so far:
2053MHz (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8567531)
only 9x228 and 600/600. Lower than 9x didn't seem to work w/ the adapter for some reason. 30k at sub 2GHz ain't far thou.
