i want to buy me an new mainboard, but i dont want a big bord, so i looked in the last days for a µ-atx mainboard.
most i found had no oc-options or no agp-slot, but i found two, who looks good to me,
Gigabyte GA-8IG1000MT (http://www.gigabyte.de/MotherBoard/Products/Products_GA-8IG1000MK.htm)
and Aopen MX4SGI-4DN2 (http://www.aopencom.de/Products/MB/MX4SGI-4DN2;MX4SGI-4DN2(P).htm)
do you know one of these boards and could you say me, which board is better/faster.
thx!

abit IS-10 and Asus P4P800 VM are both out in the Micro ATX form, but they both seem to lack overclocking options according to the reviews.
I'd wonder if the ones you chose would have any overclocking options either.
clockgen would probably work for these, but other then that, I don't know.

they have. i downloaded the manual and the bios for both boards.. [aopen 100-255mhz in bios, don't know if voltage is changeable; gigabyte 100-355mhz in bios, no voltage-attitudes]
so for overclocking the aopen is better, but the gigabyte has other very good features, like an hdd-backup-tool integrated in the bios, etc.
so i cant decide which board i should take, because i think v-core is für a pentium4 @ air not so importand.

here you go, I went and did some basic bios modding, and looked at the Abit IS-10 bios.
I unlocked all the overclocking options.
no you have the VAGP voltage to 1.65 volts.
the Vdimm voltage up to 2.85 volts.
the Ram ratios are selectable.
and a few other things.
all the overclocking options were indeed hidden on the IS-10, but now they are all unlocked and will be there if you flashed the bios with this :D

ok, I just opend up the Aopen bios too, and took a look around whats in there.
nothing was hidden or anything interesting, but theres some overclocking options. looks like it should go from 100-255 for the FSB. up to 1.6 volts for AGP. up to 2.7 volts for ram.
not much else in there.
I wouldn't say this board offers much potential, even for a small form board.
the gigabyte on the other hand, I couldn't open that bios.
so I can't say if theres much overclocking options to play with on that board.
thier bios doesn't work with my bios modding programs :(

4. you use modbin6? (nothing about the mainboard *g*)
thx!!!

yes I used modbin6 to open the bios and see what was there.
since that was last night, and just before I went to bed, I honestly don't know remember much of the options for that board.
but if you wanna try it yourself, all you do is download the latest IS-10 bios, bios 17 I think, then rename the extension to .bin, and use modbin 6 1.038 to open it.
