Now, after some tweaking have I managed to hit 11K i 3dmark 2003.
I don't really know if this is a good result. Highest score with a 6800NU @ futuremark ORB is ~12K, but that can't be right
My current settings are 400Mhz gpu, 875Mhz mem, 12x1,6vp. This is what I have acomplished, but I think I could boost up my score a bit more. Currently using stock HS, but I added a 80mm fan. Load temp ~60ºC.
(Rig spec. 2.9Ghz, 223Mhz fsb, 2-2-2-6, winxp pro sp1, 66.81 drivers )
Here are some questions:
* VAGP, default voltage. 1.5v, now runnig @ 1.6v. Gave me +60Mhz mem, 10Mhz gpu. But I have heard that you can kill you card by increasing the vagp. Is this right? How is safe to increase?
* VGPU. What is default? According to OmniExtremeEditFX / NiBiTor my default voltage is 1.4 / 1.3 / 1.2 v. Is this correct readings, or is this a bug? (1.4 > 6800 GT voltage? )
I guess that 1.4v is 3d performance voltage. Can I set 1.4 -> 1.5 v insted. Is this "possibe" with my current load temp?
* Overcloking. I use RivaTuner's dirver based overclocking. But sometimes when I test new overclocking settings ( wich I know are working ), I get a error message. Is it possible to force new settings?
( Same problem when I try 16x1,6vp, can not overclock anything at all! )
12k in 2k3 is more than possible, my best score so far is 12330... have u done the softmod with rivatuner 15.2 correctly? what happens when you try to overclock?about the test when overclocking in rivatuner, simply disable it, go to Power User tab -> Nvidia/Overclocking -> DisableInternalClockTest. besides that, u can in fact raise the vgpu...the default is 1.2v, mine is @ 1.4v for now, but it can be set to 1.5v (wouldn't do it with those temps, mine is watercooled, 40ºC idle/50ºC load). just download NiBiToR 1.7 (new and renamed version of OmniExtremeEdit), it is pretty straightforward, when u open your bios it points out the "true" value to change in green. another thing you should consider is having a psu line dedicated to the card, as this has influence in OC capabilities. other than this, just overclock hard :)
mine has got to 435/950 benchable with just some minor artifacts (lowering mems to 900 just about wipes them out).
good luck :D

Yeah, over 12000 is totally no problem for a 6800nu. I am aiming for 13000 myself with my stock cooled 6800nu (chaintech AA6800). Best score so far is 12874 when running at 435/925 16p/6vp. Some tricks that helped my get a better overclock was changing my throttle voltage to 1.4v, disabling fastwrites and in rivatuner disabling the clock test. Your temps seem totally fine as I will sometimes hit near 70C at times with some games and benching.

12,000 is easy for a 6800 NU.
I currently got the records for the 6800 in most catagories at 14,330 on 2003, 5890 on 2005 and 31,000 on 2001se, as well as a 78,500 score on aquamark.
thats at 470/1205, 16 pipelines, and 6 vertex shader, and volt mods, watercooling, and a hell of a good CPU.
the key to overclocking the 6800 well, is simple things.
don't get greedy on the memory OC.
my memory does up to about 1230 stable, but at 1230, I can only get about 450 on the core stable. lower the mem OC to 1200 or so, and I can get a extra 20+ mhz on the core.
this is my 3rd 6800, all of them had this same trait.
my first 6800 was a EVGA 128 meg one, that did 480/880 and did 12,440 one 2003.
so its not hard to break 12K even with a standard 6800.

How do one unlock 6800nu and enable 16x pipes and 6 vu? I know that can be done with Riva tuner 15.2 RC. I know how to enable the pipes but not the vertex units.

same way you unlock the extra pipelines.

Success!!
i did it. my v9999 is now official 16x1, 6vp , thx a mill Kunaak!!

I used Rivatuner to enable 16x1, but unfortuently didn't my card like that. I get small artifacts in some 3d apps, such as 3dmar4k 2003. It is just smal black pixels, and they are not always visible. Still good enough for 3dmark. (I will try to disable internal clock test :) )
I also tried to disable fastwrites, worked just fine :) Gave me 100+Mhz mem, and some gpu power as well. But my new 3dmark result was lower, so I changed back.
Agp voltage then? Is it dangerous to set vagp to 1.6v?
And, what do you mean by dedicated psu line? same as one dedicated 12v cable out from the psu? Are not some of those cables connected to each other iside the psu?

Kunaak, wasn't your 6800NU basically an Ultra with GDDR3 memory and all that stuff? The ordinary 6800's have DDR memory on them (probably 2.2ns chips, not sure though) which, of course, cannot be overclocked to those GDDR3 levels.

my card is probably an ultra , just had masked pixel shader , vertex units, and 6800nu bios. dam thing came with two molexes and looks phsyically identical to a 6800 ultra.

Update:
I disabled internal clock test, and enabled 16x1,6vp. Same clocklsettings as before, 400 / 875Mhz. Run 3dmark 2003, and.... 10400p ??? 600p less then with 12x1 ? Weird. Very weird.
With stock clocks, 16x1 gave me about 800p more than 12x1. I don't get it.
Good news, played with overclocking without internal check :). And now I was able to get my DDR speed up to 1000Mhz with NO ARTIFACTS, and fastwrites enabled. (When I hit 10030Mhz i get my first artifacts.)

yep 2.0 NS ram on the Asus Gamers Edition 6800 NU.
but it's still a 6800 by default.
12 pipelines, and such.
finding the best 6800 is no different then using a 3.3 NS ti 4200, versus people getting standard 4.0 NS ti 4200's.
this is still a 6800 by default.
just like a 3.3 NS ti 4200 will always be the ones used to break 4200 records, the 2.0 or 1.6 NS 6800's are the ones you want for the high records for the 6800.
cause when it comes down to it, the card is still a 12 pipeline card by default.
yes, I mod it, I mod everything I get.
lots of people modded thier 6800's to 16 p and such.
no different then modding X800 Pro Vivos to take X800 pro records.
you use the best card you can find for the job.
Kunaak: what is the best driver for 6800NU, 61.77 or the other?
and do u know why ORB show my core @ 351 MHz because i set it @ 443 MHz with powerstrip.
my score is pretty low : 12674 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=3316525)

for 3dmark2001se the best for me is 6145.
for aquamark3, 3dmark2003 and 2005, the best for me is the 6681.
I am not 100% sure why the speed is read wrong, but I would think it's one of 2 things. either your opening 3dmark, then changing your clock speeds...
or you need to update windows.
for some reason if I don't update windows, my clock speeds get read as 5/12 mhz.
its neither of the service packs that read the clock speeds right I know that.
it's one of the 20 other critical or security updates that enables 3dmark to read my clock speeds right.
I don't know what one, cause I havent tested them very thoroughly.
I just know it's not service pack 1 or 2 that solves the problem.
