I had my 2500 Mobile clocked to 2200 ghz...which is my 24/7 clock speed anyway...and since the CPU matters little in 3dMark03, I decided to stop messing with it. Last night was pretty damn cold in central Michigan, and my basement was no different, so I decided to push my X800XT PE a bit.

With ATITool I pushed the memory to 540 and the core to 620. So at 540/620 benching was fine until near the end of Trolls lair where some black patch artifacting began, so I opened the outside door to drop the temps even more down there and put a 120mm fan over the card. The artifacting was very minimal through Nature and I ended up with 12560 which is 300 more than my previous score.

I have a Koolance system that I have yet to install, and I have 2 X 256 of OCZ 3700 EB coming today, so combining those two things...can I break 13000 with my sig setup? I don't know how high that X800XT PE can go on water...anyone doing that?

Damn straight you can. I dont have a mobile but my 2500+@236x11 on my nf7-s I can hit 13,300. I get my ati silencer today so hopefully I can get a little more out of this card.

Hey Sancho...did you volt-mod the board or anything? I top out at 218-220 which I hear is common without mods....and I think I mixed up the memory/core in my previous post. Whatever setting is on the left was at 540, and on the right was 620.

yeah a few people have watercooled their x800s, lol. I mean like everyone here...
Honest opinion: dump the Koolance and buy Swiftech's system if you want to avoid building your own system. It's much better than Koolance mostly because the Koolance does not move water in a efficient manner. 1/4 inch ID tubing is only BARELY better than air cooling. Seriously, you won't be that happy with the Koolance. I "borrowed" a Koolance Aluminum radiator and hooked it up to my CPU only, and frankly the thing is a joke. Seriously, ask other people here and they will give u the same story.

yeah the core would be 540 and the memory is 620, nice clocks on air, about normal I think

also: the cpu WILL make a nice difference in 03, sure it is most GPU intensive, but the GPU still waits on instructions from CPU, and if anything your CPU will hold that powerful GPU back

Sorry, I meant with a Koolance.

See...I have heard the Koolance is overall a pretty good system when all things are considered. I picked it up for a pretty good price and it should be good enough for what I am doing.

I have not tried the OCZ 3700 EB yet, and I don't know what to expect out of it...as well as timings I should try. Will the RAM alone give me some points compared to my 1 Gig of 3500 Performance Series? What timings on the EB should I go after?

Was pretty darn nipply in Ann Arbor the last few nights, anyway nice score in 3dmark03. I'm going to start feeling real bad when people's 05 scores start beating my 01 scores.

on 2003, the airplane test, I forget what its called... the first test.
responds greatly to both bandwidth and speed.

so go for some overclocking, and get your airplane tests up, and that might get you a extra 100 or so points with your max CPU and ram OC as well as the same videocard settings you did for your current score.

Nah maybe its your memory...my bh-6 does that at 2.95v

Well...with OCZ 3700 EB running at 3-2-2-10, my chip OC'd to 2504, and my XT PE clocked to 545/635 I hit 12785....and that really f'ing sucks because the score I have to beat is 12850...any suggestions? The card was artifacting black flashes after about 10 seconds into Proxycon so I'm not sure I can push this any farther on air.

You can do 635 on the core with no mods on air??!!

DAMN... Thats insane!

Push your memmory more ;) 545 isnt even stock??? Is it a flashed ViVo???

My X800XT(Non PE) does 585/594 24/7 on water...

But put a small fan over the memmory and just krank up the RPM's... And put some heatsinks on em at the same time...

3700EB running 3-2-2-10 at 220Mhz??? That wasnt much... Your mobo is NF2 right??? You should run 2-2-2-11 ;) or 3-2-2-11 ;)

Try to do what kunaak says;)

Try to turn down your gfx clocks... In many cases you lose performance by pushing it to high..

Cold Michigan night + PC in the garage= card at 21 C.

Yeah I was 545-ish on the core, not the memory. Stock core reads at 519 in AtiTool and I am excited for water....I will try the other RAM timings though, and you think I should gradually tweak the GFX settings instead of trying to max out?
