heya guys, Sorry my first post is a question :(
On my 8k3a i can run 3d mark up to about 204 bus but over 200 i take a huge dive in performance especially noticeable in dragothic.
Im guessing that some settings are changed automatically over 200fsb? Is there any way to change these back with wpcredit (ive never used it before but will set it up if needs be). I havent tweaked much yet so any sugestions. Btw my best score is 10920 or so with my 8500 @ 303 & 197x9.5

What BIOS are you using? EPoX makes BIOS with same major differences in performance, namely, fast cpu decode being enabled or disabled. Be sure to use one of the 8k3a28xx BIOS as all of the 28xx have fast cpu decode enabled. I use the 2815 official as it is the most stable with fast cpu decode enabled. The 2312 BIOS has it as well, but may not be as stable.

Im using the 2829 bios atm and i am very happy with the performance until i go over 200fsb. Thx for pointing out about the fast cpu decode, could this be being turned off over 200fsb??

Welcome to Xtreme :)
You might care to read up on using WPCREDIT & WPCRSET to force these timings that apparently the EPoX BIOS is relaxing on you automatically. This is the best article I could dig up for now for helping you learn...good luck :D

Thx for the guide, I've studied and followed and also scowered this forum for tweaks used by others. Mr Icee posted this tweak "97=73 This change enables fast CPU decode at 200Mhz+" which has fixed my performance over 200mhz but enabling it also kills my ram so I only managed to bench at 203 which puts my processor speed down a fair bit from my benches at 197 so i havent beaten my score :( Just 35 points to pull from somewhere to break 11k and my god im desperate :P
