well im sure alot of you have seen the recent events concerning TCCD, high volts and crazy speeds.

overall do you think this new tccd is better at overclocking and getting high fsb and bandwidth than bh-5? try not to mind availability, but just how well it scales.

thanks.

really depends on what you're aiming for and on what board/platform and what memory configuration

would be sweat to eventually see 2x 512MB TCCD @ 275-285mhz 2-2-2-6 though heh

Id say yes if it weren't for my just hitting 275 2-2-2 with a gig of bh5 @ <3.6vdimm

;)

No. Though if that Gskill is really hitting ddr600 @ 2.5-3-3-7 1t with a gig... then maybe.

BH-5 for K7, and TCCD for K8. That's my choice.

Would say bh-5 for nforce 2 (Amd xp-M,barton osv)
And TCCD memories for a64 and fx-5X.

:idea:

well both are amazing chips. but I think if you get a good stick of bh-5 and give it 3.8-3.9v then you should see 560-570mhz 2-2-2-5

but it's hard to find sticks like these, so my vote is for tccd.

accepting that tccd chips can handle above 3.0v :banana4:

I'd use BH5 for the K7 platform, and TCCD or EB's for the K8 platform

Not really sure what would be best for intel.

I'd say Hynix D43 for Intel...

haven't tried the tccds yet. Not sure if I really need to right now. But my Mushkin BL2s can do DDR550 @ 3.65V 3D stable on my A64.

BH5 for XP, TCCD for A64

Low volts-> Tccd
high volts-> bh-5

I think tccd can go higher than bh-5 with bad timings , but these chips can't do 2-2-2-5@280hmz like bh-5 does.

On intel BH-5, also for A-XP
For ye ole' A64 i'll take TCCD anyday

anyone with both tccd and bh-5, just test on lobby high detail.

I can't afford TCCD, but BH5 is well within my price range.

Once TCCD falls into the 175$ per gig range I'll buy a gig of it.

I'm gonna get hold of some BH5 for my P4 soon, and for my new FX55 (which I am getting as soon as I can :D), TCCD.

P4/AXP -> BH-5
A64 -> TCCD

I'm talking in about 6 months. I couldn't afford BH5 when it first came out either.

TEDY

well in 6 months there will be TCCD rev 2 300@2-2-2-11 at 3,3vdimm or something and you will want that :P

craig588
10-30-2004, 09:29 AM
and I'll buy that 6 months later.

the only choice TCCD now...

yeah, tccd cant hit as high as fsb at 2-2-2 as bh-5 can, but it does come very close, and it goes even further when you loosen the timmings.

Hmm, where are TCCD @ 270 2-2-2-5 ? ;)

I voted for "unsure", bcs i have BH5 now and on monday i get my S939
Sys complete, then i will see how good they will work. 3,3V - 3,8V.
But on nforce2 the only real thing is BH5.

it got 255 2-2-2 with 3.4. bh-5 needs about the same.

My BH5 need 3,25V for 256 2-2-2-5. But thats not the "problem".
U can go any higher with 2-2-2-5? Don't think so! ;)

i'd say BH5 for 2x256 and TCCD for 2x512....

just get both, that's the best solution :)

250MHz @ 2-2-2 isn't good enough? And that is only in my experiance, and only with 3.2V.

I don't have either, but from what I read here, if you've got enough voltage so that BH-5 can reach 270-280 2-2-2-5, nothing can touch it.

You got that right, BH5 PWN's. Thats all there is to it. But the new revision TCCDs' are looking like they may have a chance. We will just have to waite and see. I really hope it comes around because these little BH5 sticks are getting a little hard to get. But as for now my BH ram kills any TCCD's I have had in peformance.

personnally i was glad to get rid of my bh-5.

all the bh-5 you get nowadays has been passsed around like a joint or something. i find most bh-5 for sale now is onto its 5 or 6th owner, and the warranty on it is shot too. fact is you can now get higher bandwidth with TCCD so for me thats enough for me to sell my bh-5.(as i just did :banana: )

Seen TCCD hitting 260MHz 2-2-2-5 on NF7-S, that is so weird.
So I dunno about BH-5 for AXP.
