Today I thought I'd try a old modding technique, the driver mod, to get some additional points.
today I used the 6681 and just changed the 6800 Ultra driver to work on my 6800 NU.
you can do the same thing using my old guide Here (http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=22606&highlight=make+driver//)
it's the same exact process to mod a driver for the 6800 as it was to do it on the FX cards a long time ago.
but the results on the 6800 NU were alittle more definate this time.
about 200 points extra on 3dmark2003 at the exact same settings. everything was the exact same way with each driver, and each videocard speed, and latency and everything else.
not going for a score or overclock or anything, just plain old test.
I chose not to use 3dmark2001 for this mod, cause I wanted to test the videocard alone. 2003 to me, would show a difference better then 2005 would cause on 2003 the difference would be more substantial and easier to break down.
looking from the pic here, it's definatly worth trying :D
Remember, the light grey score is the modded 6800 Ultra driver.
The Dark grey is the standard 6800 Non Ultra driver.
I even labled the driver as "6800 Modded" to make things alittle easier ;)
anyways, the scores themself.
11,837 with the stock driver.
