What are max volts(vcore, vdimm) winchesters can handle for about 2 years without problems??

anyone yet knows it?
go till 1.5 vcore or till 1.6 on water??
is 2.9 vdimm a long time problem for the mem-controller??

any informations/recommands about that?

i would say 2.6vcore is safe and that 4.3vdimm is also safe on stock cooling. if you get better cooling it can take more volts. :hehe:

I would say around 24 V 24/7 should be okay. That is if you use a good fan.

you heard that too? i heard about a guy who got a 75% clock increase by filling his case with ice cubes.

very funny guys.. :banana4:

i meant this question seriously...

or was my english to bad and so you are joking?

(i know @xtreme it's unimportant for the most people what's healthy for their cpus, but i ask here, because i think that you could know it)

saci, please use the search function next time you have a question, this question has been answered dozens of times already ;)

on air you are bound to a low vcore by temps, you should rather watch the temps and not let them go over 50-60°C

i have not heard of any a64s that died from too much vcore and some people ran up to 2.2v on them...

danke / thank you ^^

i've read that, but i can't believe that a winchester can take 2.2v for more than some months "s.n.d.s" should be also an problem here.. isn't it?

but if noone yet knows, what is really "save" ok

snds is only if you own a northwood. which is intel. your talking about a amd winchester.

you can "believe" what you want, there is no single a64 that died from too much vcore... some died from a bad vdimm desing on the mainboard, some died from bad vdimm mods, and some died from a too high 3.3v rail (3.7v), but no a64 cpu has died from high vcore or vdimm yet. and there are many people here who shovel huge volts up those cpus bums :D

most people see no big increase above 1.75v on air and 1.85v on water, but thats probably just heat related...

saci, if you are really that scared of losing your chip then you shouldnt oc it at all... :P

24/7 for your kind of expectations.... call it 1.55v

if you have a C0 i would be more concerned about volts than if you had a CG.

CG's seem to handle volts better.

I've managed to run 1.8 vcore through my winchester on air. It got a bit warm (mid 50's) but not too bad. From what little I understand, it seems that the biggest danger to A64s is running vdimm over 3.3-3.4.

I'll have to put that vdimm to the test as i'll be mod'd my neo2 plat to hit 3.65 :toast:
