View Full Version : Average A64 CG clocks @ 1.75v on air?

Just got around to firing up my 2800+ CG on stock air and its pulling 2.5 @ 1.72v (113% I think) on stock air. 9x278 :D

This is just in memtest of course, but all I did was set it and walk away for 20 mins.. and its still going. Good sign I guess :)

Oh yeah, running 1x256 bh-6, 2.77v @ 198mhz or something while I play around at the start... dont want to burn it up right off the bat lol.

hey stevil, i just got my 2800+ last week, mine topped out at 280x9 @ 1.65v, high voltage didnt do anything. o yeah i was using stock cooler also.

was using tccd ram 1:1 280 2.5-3-3-7

however been running it at 275x9 because its not primestable at 280x9, but sure runs like it is.

doing memtest @ 278x9 1.67v atm. Tried ram @ 1-3-3-7 (no, not a typo) @ 200mhz 3.07v for fun, gave only 30 errors, lol :D

Tried CAS 3, 3.5, 4, and 4.5 for fun too, but BH-6 doesnt like them at all.. no post.

average CG clock is about 2500 mhz so yours pretty much around average :)

I too am running a CG on air @ 1.55v x 110%, it idles at 1.67v and when stressed seems to rise to about 1.72-1.74v. Its set up at 250 x 10 1:1 with 4x HTT whatever that does:D The Chip is good for 2.6 Ghz +, but it was a choice between memory bandwidth or clockspeed and 250 x 10 is a nice round number so stuck with that for 24/7 running. With 3.5v on the RAM it will hit 255 x 10 which seems ok for a pair of double sided DIMMs at 1t, it will prime well enough but it really is on the ragged edge of what these sticks can do. I'm in the curious position of having my RAM as my weakest link now, but i cant justify any more expense till christmas is out of the way :rolleyes:

is that 9 x 278 of yours with the BH6?!

my 2800+ went up to 2630mhz (292x9) with 1.67v (only stable for sss) running 24/7 with 275x9

Herms yours are a 3400.. Usually they clock around 100-200mhz more.

My 3000+ clocks to 2600 mhz 3dstable on the stock cooler with stock volts.

My 3000+ does 2500Mhz @ 1.7v primestable with SLK947-U - 70mm TT-fan @ 3300RPM. More voltage and higher fanspeed (6000RPM) doesn´t help. I cant even run 3d or prime @ 2550 with 1.8v.

Its a Clawhammer CG with half the cache disabled. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Strange tho.. 2500Mhz primestable, but 2550 is no go even in super-pi or sandra.


EDIT: Its not mine any longer. Forgot i sold it last night.

Thats quite true bias_h, thing being my RAM only handles 255 at a push. I can run at 240 x 11 (2.64) but it does get hotter than I'd prefer for 24/7. I'm a little torn as to whether I would get more benefit from the extra 140mhz overall speed as opposed to the extra memory bandwidth at 250 x 10. I'll just have to experiment I think. This X.5 multiplier thing is a bit of a pain to be honest.

I´d say keep the extra 140mhz - The gain should be somewhat larger :)

I'll give it a shot, I'm fairly certain i was using more voltage than was entirely necessary anyway :D

278 with a divider (~200mhz mem) using "testing" stick which is single sided stick of bh-6, but I have a couple other sticks of BH-6 that i'm sure could do 278 1:1 if I had the balls to feed them that much voltage.. dont want to cook my cpu :( They pulled 250 @ 3.38v on a dfi infinity and I played with them up to 274, though that was with memtest and it was far from stable. Took 3.75v iirc.

It posts up to 9x300 @ 1.72v... :D
