if you like vids...maybe....it seems that if you have massive cpu power youll be ok..and some new drivers will prolly fix it.

it looks to be random.....and it depends...does your cpu usage shoot to 100% when watching a movie?

fluctuates between 15-20%

play that trailer and make sure you have nothing else on..if you hit 100% you have youself a broke gpu.

drivers are suppost to fix it. We`ll see.
I really never play back video in the media player, so I`m not too worried about it at this point, the VC I have works perfectly except for this.

im very worried, i like to edit video with nero and im also an avid gamer, i have an evga 6800 ultra, so far i have seen no problems in my video editing or in playback, does this mean i have a "good" chip or have i just been lucky? My processor only goes up to about 60% when rendering video and never above 35% on dvd playback. Does this mean i got a chip with onboard video that works?

disposibleteen, what proc do you use?
i'm running a pov gf6800gt on a 2.5gh amd xpm and last time i checked my cpu-usage was around 6-10% playing a div-x video @ fullscreen...
also did you try the testing prog juicy linked to? so far i didn't, but i might someday.. i think it's around 100mb to download

this has been addressed by avsforum a long time ago. People there, who use 6800u for home theater computers were not happy...

nvidia is screwed on this, the swell of anger is speadind now as more people become paranoid and misinformed... I'll admit I don't know all the facts, but it sure would be nice if nvidia would respond to this. Otherwise they are going to lose SO MANY current and future customers.
this is not for DVD playback, this concerns current HD formats and future HD formats, like WMV and Mpeg 4...

who cares about DVD playback?? all cpus can handle dvd just fine, NVIDIA PROMISSED 6800u to be high definition format compatible, and now NVIDIA admits the 6800u doesnt do it, but the 6600 does? So, with word finally from the horses mouth, I feel very cheated by NVIDIA, as should all early 6800 ultra users. Whether or not NVIDIA fixes this issue for THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE WHO ORIGINALLY BACKED NVIDIA BY PURCHASING SOME OF THE FIRST 6800 ULTRAS, I doubt. I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER NVIDIA VIDEO CARD AGAIN, THIS FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS STOOD BEHIND THE NV40 FROM THE BEGINNING.
Nvidia can spin this anyway they want, bottom line: all agp 6800 ultras and GTs I guess should be recalled. At the very least, there is a VERY STRONG case for a class action lawsuit, that I will happily sign onto. False advertising is a no no Nvidia!!!!!
