Is there an 03 tweak guide anywhere? I saw the 01 tweak thread, but not 03. I have tried to follow the NF7-s guides as far as BIOS settings (spread spectrum, etc) and OS stuff too, like turned off services, eliminated some processes and...
I can just break 12000-ish in 03 with my X800XT PE with OVD on.
That is on a full HD, not defragged, and 2mb buffer.
Then, I figured, with my AMD 2500 Mobile clocked to 2450, NF7-S v2, X800XT PE at 526/560, OCZ 520W Powerstream, 1 GB of OCZ 3500 PS RAM....I should try Win 2k on a clean install and try to squeeze some points before I throw it out and upgrade!
So, I pulled out my 200g 8mb Seagate, reformatted it, installed Windows 98, upgraded to Win 2000 Pro, but didn't add any SP's(problem?), DX 9c, first the 4.10's and then the 8.07's CATS and either way..I only hit 11000! This has to be due to no SP's installed, since that OS is...well...simply as advanced as when it was first released without them.
I was still not expecting that, so I plugged back into the full, unorganized, 80 gig 2mb buffer with Win XP Pro SP2, and was at about 11,800-12000 again.
I have read that AMD likes Win 2k and I should expect 12,500 at least (praying for 13000 actually), but I didn't see that. So does anyone have any comprehensive tweak guide so I can literally squeeze as many points out of this as possible?
