Yes D2OL daddy can be installed as a service... and easy too. PS2 can do it! :D or I'll do it tomorrow... maybe I can hack up PS2's service installer????

It should be easy to add to the installer, good idea.

I have an easy installer for D2OL Daddy that installs it, and makes it a service.

It's too big to post so PM me and I'll e-mail it to you... I'm post it to my site when I get home and drop a link.

PS2pcGAMER!!!! Thanks for introducing me to batch files!

Nice work.

The reason I didn't incorporate it was that I didn't have a chance yet to ask Jeff Gilchrist if it'd be ok we distributed his program.

.:In the works:.
I'm going to try and create a SUPER easy installer for D²OL One that installs D²OL (As a service), D²OL Daddy (As a service), has all of the tweaks built in, is already registered with a community account e-mail, and is under 1 node (debating the 1 node idea).

I'll create a version for 1 client, 2 clients, and 4 clients.

I'll get started on it tomorrow.

.:Note:. These will be big files and I’ll need a place to park them until I get my server online……… I only have 10MB of storage atm…

They aren't ready yet... I need to do some digging and see if it can even be done the way I want.

D²OL is a lot more intrusive than DF was. D²OL installs registry keys, stuff in windows (???). It's one that you cannot simply install and drag and drop anywhere you want... With DF you could just make your tweaks, copy the folder, and zip it! Boom you have easy installer... D²OL is more complicated so it will be a little more difficult to manipulate. I still need to do some investigating...

 The only thing I have done as of know... Well... I know I want to do it! That's as far as I have gotten atm! :D

They are DONE! I have an XS community account setup for the installers.

I have 3 versions. Single agent installer, double agent installer (for 2X processors or P4s w/HT), and a 4x installer (for the twin Xeon rigs and such) They all crunch under a single user account/node, "XtremeSystems_Community"

We can use these for those on XS that want to help the team but want NO hassle setting it up or making a profile. They all install the D²OL Agent(s) and the D²OL Daddy App. They are both created as services and the Agent(s) are already tweaked with the preferred settings.

They are also pre-registered and set to fold under a community node.

The agents are fully integrated. They have all the Add/Remove features and install just like the installer off of the D²OL site (just without all the hassle!). This means that the agents are fully functional and operate just as if you did a normal install.

I'm also working on versions (all 3 installers) for individual use. All you will have to do it register a new node and you are off!! It will likely start like the traditional installer would... prompt for an e-mail... and start the agent in the system tray (not as a service) BUT! My installer will still create the services and next time the system is re-booted they will startup as services :D I still need to look into it and may do it differently.

Thanks! I really hope they are useful as is was a pain in the arse to figure it all out!

Now I just need to find a place to park them :) I only have 10MB of storage on my page...

I'm working with Fugger to get access to the XS D²OL server to host them. Just a matter of time now... and I can unleash my creations on the world! Muah ha ha ha ha!!!!!

:D Thanks! I'm waiting on FUGGER to get me some access, he's working on getting the server all ready and I'll be all set.

If it's going to be too long I'll park them in a temp home just so we can start getting them out the door!

atm I'm at work and i can't even touch port 21... so there will be no ftp madness for me untill I get off at 7:00... Funny... seems like I came to work at 7:00...... O yea I did :( Someone fire me... PLEASE...

After you install D2OL Daddy how do you find out the node # to add to your account.

NM I'm an idiot :(

AHH! Bumped! :slapass:

You don't need to know the node id to add it, you just go to "add node" and it will give you nodes under your email.
