I live in Sweden :) And u dont need to speak swedish to live here.. because here almost everyone can speak english since we dont "dub" (translates everything) into german..or french... And if u like paying taxes this is the place to be :) Here 1 liter gas costs about 1euro or 10-11kr.. 1 dollar is about 8kr.. + not to forget the awsome 40% or was it 47% income tax.. lucky for me im just a stupid child so i dont have to pay anything so thats a plus i guess..

Oh i almost forgot here we accually have chips and candy that doesnt taste like a s s and our water isnt :banana::banana::banana:ty either.. that is the one thing i cannot understand why oh why would anyone make such sugary candy like u do in the us..

Do you pay anything additional for health care, auto insurance, or hazard insurance? Is there a sales tax? In case you are curious you pay about 175% what I do for gas.

If anyone wants to visit i could have ya live in my place 'til you find something yourself. Or help you get a place of your own. Work isn't generally a problem, you just have to keep your eyes open.

Agree with Murmlos, speaking swedish isn't necessary here. My mum moved here when she was 20 from Finland, she managed without the language in the beginning :).

The temps can be pretty low , i was there once all the way up to Kiruna lapland inside the polarcircle for some course . Temps where minus 53 celsius :slobber: .
The first day i already had some frostbyte on my toe because my boots where to small and not enough blood circulation. But it is a beautiful country and the people are indeed very nice and friendly. I will go back one day. But be aware of the cabdrivers, there al er.. make dishonorable bills if youre a stranger :D :)

And Belgian cab-drivers don't? :D
If you want to visit sweden come south in the summer or north in the winter.
Sweden is in the top 5 of englishspeaking countries AFAIK. Of course excluding those who have it as their mother toung.

w00t i didnt even know we _HAD_ cabs in sweden :P Everything is so close :P Well im not sure how much we pay for healthcare, but i know for sure that its not like in the US where u really needs to have an insurance.. Well as i said im only 17 (birthday today woho!) so im not really paying anything.. Dentist-bills are also free aslong as your under 18..

saaya - i dont know :P

pcwhisperer - wth where you doing in Kiruna ? j/k well 53 minus isnt that normal, here in Eskilstuna (100 km from Stockholm) we have pretty crappy winters, like 5-8 days when its like -20 otherrwise its more like -10-15 and pretty much no snow.. well some snow but not much..

One think that i think you would like about Sweden is the ISPs, we have what we call Bredbandsbolaget (broadbandcompany) and they offer 10/10 mbit for like 300-400kr (1 dollar 8kr :) And its available in almost every single apartment..

Yeah, probably they do same thing everywhere , but i was already warned by the travel book about it and i still let them rip me (Stockholm). The guy drove like 15 minutes to a cheap boot hotel meanwhile explaining how honest he was compared to his colleges. The next day i find out it was like one km from where i hopped in. Must be me :D Good thing i diddent tip him lol.
I wil keep in mind the north/south thing, thx :)

Some survival course, big mistake but a very fine purification about how fragile live can be. Normaly we where supposed to sleep outside in selfmade iglo, but that year the conditions where so extreme the people in charge diddent risk it an called us in at night. But the frozen deadsilent snowblinding toendra was truely amazing to be in. I most certainly will go back one day :)

I'm not bound to any religion, but sometimes i like to visit a big empty church just for the atmosphere you know. To feel small in a healthy way or something..
Well in that toendra ,careful to avoid spilling energy but just enough to stay warm and get nessecary things done. Drinking pineneedle thee and watching a litle northernlight, i felt like a was in the middle of a endless living church..
That makes me a tree hugging hippie wuss i guess, darn proud of it lol ;)

Bof, in Belgium the new hardware comes also after the rest of the world is served it seems :(
