and replaced them with a dual 3.3GHz Xeons.

Once I get another PC-DL the 2.6GHz Xeons will be back in action. (which should happen Thursday of this week)

Now... we have to see if they are worth the extra money. I doubt they are worth double but those $120/pr 1.6GHz LV Xeons are no longer available. :(

Just checked and these turned in 85 CONFORMERS last update! (that's for 6hrs btw!!!)

The 3.0Ghz chips I have turn in about 65-70 conformers per 6 hours.

That seems about right then... my 2.65GHz to 2.85GHz Xeons turn in 55-65 so I guess it's a pretty linear increase.

Tried a different power supply and ran 3.4GHz semi-stable last night. It rebooted 2 seperate times in 8hrs and then froze about an hour before I woke up. :(

I'm thinking with the right power supply... I may be able to get this stable. :) I'll have to do some swapping when I get home tonight after work. I'll put my 36A(+12v line) power supply on this beast and see if that helps. ;)

Still waiting on the heatsinks for the processors I took out of action. They should be here tomorrow afternoon so I'll get those 2.6GHz chips back up and conforming tomorrow evening.

I can't get mine to work. It just crashes after a minute or two into instalilng windows. :( Still troubleshooting.

What speed are you running your memory? If it's 200MHz and you didn't do the Vdimm mod, try relaxing the timings... A LOT! ;) This board has a miserable stock Vdimm. :( The Vdimm mod is very easy though and I've fed my memory 3.1v without any troubles.

All Killer,
Did you get the windtunells I sent ya?

i've tried everything but a bios flash because i don't have a floppy so it'll have to wait untill tomm. I hope that could be culprit, since im running out of possibilities. No ram, no timings, no psu, no hdd, and no bios options get it to work. Reseated heatsinks multiple times and tried a few video cards, so i hope it's the bios and a floppy can fix it tomm.

*prays to PC gods. :worship: *

No problem. (didn't even look at my heat, i'm giving you some as we speak.)

Have you tried it with one cpu(in CPU1) and one stick of RAM?

haha nope, didn't know i could do it one at a time. I'll try tomm after work after a bios flash.

@All Kill3r, I see in another thread you said you got them working... what was the problem if you don't mind me asking? And what speed are they at? 3.2GHz or... MORE? ;)

man i tried 2 free PSU's and neither worked out, so before i went to trying single cpu's at a time i took down my gaming machine and stole it's PSU and all is now well. The other 2 just didn't have the juice this beast needed.

specs are 2.4xeons @ 200x16, 2gigs pc3200.

top 4 are the xeons, so i guess there where they should be.

Did you get your heatsinks in yet for the OTHER xeon's you have yet ? :slobber:

Yep. And I just completed the Vdimm mod and set up the power supply for ~12.00v under full-load. Unfortunetly one of these chips is just not up to snuff. I tried this set with three different PC-DL boards and they just can't do over 2.75GHz stable. That's not horrible but I wanted all of them over 2.8GHz. ;)

So, I'm up to four of these setups now with total power consumption right around 900w. Which is just sooo good for 8 processors. I still have my wife's 2.4GHz AMD setup going but that will eventuall be taken down and replaced with one of the Xeon setups. For the electricity I'm using on the AMD rig... it's just not worth it when you compare it to these Xeon setups. ;)
