i think it's the 18th fastest 9800Pro R350 on the ORB ?

Nice score Eva2000, A64 is very strong on 3dmark01!
What about your 3dmark05?... I think that is too low, if i've done 3666pts with a Barton I think that you can go more hight right? ;)

Many compliments ;)
Have you try to run 3dmark01 @ default clock processor?
In 3dmark05 I overclock only video card, i suppose that clock processor isn't important for this benchmark:
http://remixes.altervista.org/My_Record/3666.JPG
That 3700+ of yours sure is doing it's thing eva2000.
I will add that you are running my most favorite KHX3200's. They have my vote for the best BH-5 256mb modules ever made. WTG

thanks Poki, actually they one of my least tested/played with pair of 2x 256MB KHX3200K2/512 BH-5 lol .. was surprised when they did what they do at 3.58v vdimm
Remixes tried default cpu clock and score was about the same
Eva2000 - Very nice results and OC :toast:
I think, you can do 27k with little or no trouble. Did you adjust VPU mem timings? They really help alot. Anyways, great work :D
EDIT: Can you remember you Genie settings(not RAM only all of those in the first menu)? If you can, please write them all if possible, thanks :)

eva,
Thats very nice. You have a good CPU/mem combo there :toast:
Try dropping max async latency to 6ns, and set Read Write Q Bypass to 16x. It helps in superpi/pifast and lobby, but may drop your RAM o/c a bit. Only way to find out is to try it :)

nah didn't mess with VPU or mem timings in ATI Tool - thanks for reminding me ... any tips for Gecube 9800Pros for mem timings to adjust in ATI Tool ? Genie settings ? you mean bios ???
CodeRed, yeah 16x and particularly max async latency and Twtr will reduce my mem's max oc with 3.58v vdimm setting - but this is with 2x 256MB BH5 so guess I can't go too tight with 2 sticks. But looks like if this pair do so well together, individually they must be mad ocers too :D
I have had 4 awesome Gecube cards - none volt modded!
Gecube 9600Pro - 490/360 stock
Gecube 9600Pro VIVO - sold 515/339 stock

yeah very happy with 3700+ and my trusty Gecube 9800Pro :)
Moment of temptation, and i decided to remove the VGA Silencer rev1 plastic housing and stock fan, reinstall the silencer's heatsink but instead added 2 fans to it, one 60x38mm delta 50cfm 8800rpm fan over the core area of heatsink + 60x25mm sunon 40cfm fan 6600+ rpm to the remaining end of silencer heatsink - along with a fresh coat of Ceramique + thermal probe to backside of heatsink core/card hehe
Hopefully it runs a bit better :D

10-28-2004, 06:13 AM
Eva, you need to vmod that 9800 badly ;) (If it isn't already of course)
490/402 with no Vmodds would be REALLY nice... The mem could reach 400Mhz if its good ram with ekstra cooling... But the core@490Mhz would be nice :D
GL Eva and nice score ;)

4port kvm switch is the answer - work pc and bench pc via flick of a switch :D
i tried a 10x 273HTT 1:1 273mhz 2-2-2-6 run just now and test 1-3 was on track for 27,250ish run but froze in nature - guess 2x 256MB KHX3200K2/512 BH-5 @ 273mhz was a bit too much with 3.58v vdimm max i have heh
Gonna try 7x 389HTT 7:10 with mem at 272.3mhz 2-2-2-6 run and see how I go :)
Not comfortable with volt modding cards... but i upload some piccies of my modded vga silencer rev1 heatsink later
what is was wondering:
Eva2000 amd 3700+ @ 2720.5MHz
with 9800Pro @ 490/402
= 27,131
dpa amd fx @ 3047Mhz
with 9800Pro @ 549-556/408-415
= 28,542
dpa has dual channel and +327MHz more on the cpu
and clocked the core +59-66MHz and the mem +6-13MHz
and still the difference is only 1411 3d Marks
with this difference in clocks i would expect the difference in scores should be bigger
i noticed dpa benched in XP and Eva in 2k
but does that make such a bit difference?
or is Eva2000 just an evil genius who is getting points out of nowhere? ;)
eva2000
10-28-2004, 07:53 AM
Jack FX5* cpus clock for clock over 3700+ 1M would still have 300-700 pts advantage in 3d2k1 at same video card clock speeds, that remaining 700-1100pts difference would be the higher core/mem clock on his card + dual channel
3700+ cpu has 1Mb cache so is pretty close to FX53 at least
BMORIN
10-28-2004, 08:18 AM
with this difference in clocks i would expect the difference in scores should be bigger
It would seem that way when looking at cpu & gpu clocks, but I be willing to bet that it is Eva's bh-5 doing 270 that's making up a lot of those points.
Kanavit
10-28-2004, 08:22 AM
the difference from single channel s754 and dual s939 is 5%. thats why i'm sticking with s754 and soon to be like Eva2000's A64 3700+ will be in my rig. it's basically a FX-53 chip without the larger memory controller for dual channel.

And eva, I'm no guru, but I don't think the 9800 mod is all too hard from what I've heard? I think even there is a version so you can use SMD grabbers (iirc) = very easy mod + not permanent.

You might get better temps if you tipped the larger fan on its side and blew air across the heatsink (make sure to build a shroud so all the air is forced across the heatsink).
