I thought they were the same, but my friend says they are different, and reviews use the terms interchangably. the orb lists both, and the x800xt pe's scores are alot higher. I thought maybe the x800xt's were pci-express and the pe's were agp, (which would relate to the scores being lower on the orb). But then You can froogle it and find tons that are non pci-e so I don't know. Any diff.

pe has 1.6ns memory and is clocked at 520/1120 compared to 500/1000 for the normal xt :)

I've never seen an xt at 500/1000

Does X800 XT then have 2ns ram?

Yes, but if you're luck you'll be able to find one with 1.6ns / 2.0ns on one side and 1.6ns on the other.

Whats the point in that, thats like having a stick of 3200 and then a stick of 2100 in ur comp.

Yeah, it´s the clockspeeds...

Funny... got my Powercolor X800XT and found out there is sticker underneath that says ATI Radeon (no model number etc). Figuring ATI never sell XT (only PE) AFAIK, looked at memory and all are 1.6ns. Testing the card on my rig as I speak now and it showed 570/572 so far... (somewhat unstable due to heat...)
Freaking core will go well past 70c while running atitool, memory seems to go easily into 78-79c (I have ifrared thermo handy for this things). No additional cooling and case is just average ventilated... I guess I won't be able to find full potential of this card till I get some better coolings on it. Do you guys think putting something on memory will help memory overclock? It seems to be getting quite hot but not 100% sure atm.

As proven earlier, memory cooling doesn't seem to add clock to the mem. But as we dont know the before temp of the memory it can't be said for sure. Generally memory cooling donesn't do much in terms of overclocking, but personally I can't stand anything to be above 40oC in my rig so id slap on some heatsinks or something on there :)

i dont think ive seen anyone report that theyve gotten 2.0ns ram on an XT, i think theyre all 1.6ns.

the XTs are reject PEs, because they didnt pass ATi's stress testing including overdrive speeds.

yeah get some heatsinks on that RAM, and get some better GPU cooling! Lets see what that thing can do.
