View Full Version : Well....something is wrong....
I just got my X800XT PE, and dropped it in my rig. I tried using Driver Cleaner to remove old drivers and put the lastest Cats 4.10 on. I ran 03 with performance sliders set to the left, and I got 10,780...which is about 800 less than the highest I got with my 6800 GT OC.
So, I decide to pull out Win 98 and my 2000 upgrade. Reformat, install 98 and then 2000, Direct X 9c, lastest Cats, 3dMark03, sliders to the left, and I got 10,700.
Needless to say, I see people on here hitting 12 to 12,500 all day long with several diff systems, so I guess I am pretty pissed off.
The only thing I did was update my Abit BIOS.

use the 8.07's... the 4.10's suck.
u can find them at guru3d.
I put the 8.07's, clocked to 2300 mhz on the chip, clicked on Overdrive to 526 and scored an 11850...getting closer...

um, thats normal, cuz the 6800 GT ownz in 3dmark03. if you got the x800xtpe for 3dmark03, your going to be slightly disappointed. x800xtpe with cascade is another story though.
try running 3dmark05, it like ATI x800 cards.
edit; btw, did you make sure AA/aF is set to preference? u should at least get 11k with that setup stock.
I oc'd the card a bit and got 12,085.....probably will need my 64 bit upgrade to break 13,000-14,000 range.

ati owns in 3dmark 2001, 2003 and 2005. cpu makes next to no difference except in 2001. well in 2003 the p4 does help a bit for some strange reason.

Well, seeing 9,3 and 10k pop up here and there, perhaps not :)

some1 should do what some1 suggested in another thread here, and trick the temp sensor on the 6800u's into thinking they're in the +celcius, when really they're -100c :D and see what they can do in 03 and 05 then.

I heard that the L2 cache of 1mb will score better than 512.
