KD7, KX7, KX7-R, or 8k3a+?

Ugggh...I just got a KX7-333R in the mail. It's rev.1.1, but it's got those stoopid black Rubycon caps on it. I'm gonna RMA it ASAP, but now I've gotta figure out what motherboard to get. I've got a few questions that should lead me to a decision.

* I don't need the RAID option but I will get it if the increase in overclockability due to the highpoint controller is worth it. Is it worth the extra $20?

* Is there anywhere online where I can buy the KX7-333 or KX7-333R and know that I will get a board with the Nichicon caps instead of the Rubycon ones? If I can't be assured of the Nichicon caps, that will rule out the KX7 boards.

* If you had to choose between the Abit KD7 and the Epox 8k3a+, which would you get? (I can't find the 8k3a, only the 8k3ae, which is too small)

I'd go w/ the KD7 over the 8K3A @ this point due to it "unlocking" the Tbreds for ya...if ur lucky enough to get one that's not junk like quite a few folks I've read. Have you considered the 8K9A2? Jeff here at the forums seems to be having great success w/ it. :)

If u can...go to a computer show and have them show u the mobo before u buy it...

Thanks for another helpful reply. I've seen that a few people have gotten some dud KD7s. I'm not willing to get another board that I'll have to RMA, so I guess that's out of the picture. I'll have to look into that 8k9a2. Newegg has them for $101 shipped.

That's a good idea, but I can't seem to find any information on computer shows coming to the Austin area. I guess they're just hitting Houston and Dallas.

kd7 is screwing up hard drives when it goes over 200fsb i just gota 8k9a2 and am very pleased my chip is also unlocked in the board just like the kd7 and i get a better overclock on the fsb than my 8k3a+ i have a get anxta 19mhz out of the fsb
