Hey guys,
Would lapping the core kill my video card? The fan died a slow death on my Ti4600. I bought a replacement and while waiting for it to come I sanded/lapped the core on it because the previous owner had used some sort of epoxy to attach a heatsink on it. I sanded the epoxy off to get a flat surface to mount my new heatsink to (TT Cool Mod). Could this have killed my video card? I applied some AS3, stuck the card in and now the system won't boot. I put my roommates GF3 Ti300 back in and it boots right up. The Video Card worked when I pulled it out and now it don't. Thats the only thing i've done to it was lapped the core to get rid of the epoxy and cleaned it with achahol (sp?).
Dammit, my luck with hardware as of late. I'm just crossing my fingers that the water that dripped on my 9800pro didn't kill it. (system was off, havn't put it back in, its been drying off since sunday)
