welcome to XtremeSystems nautica :toast:

is your psu a no name brand? or is it a good psu? can you post what exact model and manufacturer it is?

if you have a lot of money to spend, gainward has a watercooled card that runs 450mhz+ for the gpu stock! and it comes with very nice memory as well.

dont know the difference between asus and evga cards...

if your rather short on money on the other hand, theres a 6800GT from asus that has the 6800Ultra pcb and memory, so its basically an ultra for less money :D

or you can just get a 6800 or 6800gt and unlock the extra pixel pipelines with rivatuner and have a 6800 ultra with slower memory, but you pay a lot less...

its not working for all cards, so theres a risk it might not work on your card...

not right... the ASUS V9999 GE has a 12 pipe 6800gt with only 5 vertex shaders.... every other 6800gt or ultra has 16 pipes and 6 vertexes.... the asus costs ~390 $, another GT up to 430$... ill buy a POINT OF VIEW 6800 GT

hmmm but the asus has fast memory, right? so theres a good chance you can unlock the extra pipes and vertex unit and then have a full 6800U for 400$, no?

it has got 2.0ns mem, as all the other gt have... i'll take a gt and overclock it... and if the pipes are damaged.... F***

get the evga limited edition, it has a chance of being softmodded and can clock to ultra speeds since it has the ultra's 1.6ns ram.

how big is the difference between 6800Nu@GT clocks and 6800GT?

stayfrosty

dont get a NU its clocked at 325/700 but it only has ddr1 memory and it only has 12 pixel pipelines as oppsed to 16 on the GT, The GT also has the ddr3 ram and its clocked at 350/1000. You can try your luck at softmodding a cheaper card to get all the pipes but IMO its not worth it cause if it fails then your stuck with a slow card. Every GT that I have seen can hit very near ultra speeds w/ stock cooling/voltage

hey stayfrosty.... what about the ASUS v9999 GE? it can also reach ULTRA CLO'CKS and is a 12 piped GT chip... how does that sound to you? is this better than a nu6800?
