Does anyone have any idea how to get the armaflex insulation on without having to cut a line down it to put it over? Should I just try and put it on before I braze my suction line on?

I would recommend to put on the insulation an your flexible hose before brazing it in.When you're brazing it on you can push the Armaflex back with a flaring tool for example. You should also cool it with a wet rag, so the insulation won't get burned.
For rest of the suction line I sliced the Armaflex pipe. I ordered an armaflex glue, don't know if this is will work good, but I'll test it :D Otherwise you can use zip ties, or duct tape to fix the insulation.

Mine doesnt come pre slit, I have to cut it with an exacto knife and it doesnt cut very cleanly.

There is also the type that comes like a roll of tape with adhesive on one side.
i have a longer length of copper after flex suction line.
braze copper t to compressor and add schrainder leaving 2 of the 3 joins brazed.
slide the insulation on measure just a bit longer than the suction line.
at the end and slide the insulation as far back as you can and hole tight wrapping a wet rag around it and tigh tight.
and just braze the copper pipe into the t, once finshed the join quickly cool with wet rag
insulate the bit just before the compressor and add ya temp sensor on suction line and insulate that in too.
works for me all the time,

If you wrap the captube around the suction line how do you get the insulation around the captube?
