Way to go for testing compressor capabilities...

A friend of mine found a scrapyard with hundreds of compressor, they seem to be in good shape but...

Is there any way to test them and know if they can make a good vaccum?
I could make an oil change too...

power them up and weld a stub on the suction port and cap the suction line off while leaving the discharge open. Put your guage on the suction line, it should go down to at least 25 inches of vacume -.8 bar and when you shut the compressor off it should hold as long as teh guages are good.
