I just noticed when I posted a WCPUID pic of my new 2400+ that the name string actually says it's a 2600+! See here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=48252#post482521). If go to My Computer/Properties, Win2k also says it's a 2600+.
It's marked as a 2400, AIUCB, week 42, same as MrIcee has.
WTF? Have I been really lucky here? :D

It could be that windows is detecting the cpu wrong.

And wcpuid? Does that use Windows API calls? How can I test this?

You're running it at over 2600+ speeds that's probably why it's detecting it as 2600+. The 15x multi is the 2400+ multi.

You are correct. Knew that couldn't be right, looks good though! :rotf:

It's just one of the miracles I have seen when people using ABIT motherboards. BWAHHAHAHA

 And ABIT bios engineers are god then! :D
I investigated a bit more. On the Athlon XP the name string returned by the CPUID instruction is programmable and is set by the bios. What is a bit strange is the point at which it changes on my KX7 - 15x137 (2060MHz) = 2400+, 15x138 (2075MHz) = 2600+, see the pic below. The 2600+ runs at 2133MHz of course.
Now, lemme see. 15.5x133 = 2066MHz, so at a guess this is the value the bios is checking for. Naughty ABIT! :p
The CPUID instruction is explained in the pdf document "AMD Processor Recognition Application Note" #20734, available on AMD's website here (http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/20734.pdf).
