so i have this problem, i think im overloading the 9500pro's power circuitry:

when i keep the mem at stock, with 1.7v or so on the gpu, i get 440/270 3dmark

with mem at its max 3dmark stabel, i only get 405-410/330

in atitool which is less intensive i get 440/330 artifact free

is the power circuitry that bad? what mods can i do to boost the power circuitry?

I hear that changing the floppy connector to a molex has helped with this.

I hear that changing the floppy connector to a molex has helped with this.ok, how about if i take a molex, and solder all the wires to the big ass solder points on the back of the PCB, adjacent to the floppy molex connector

sound good?

That should ork just fine I would think.

ok i did it, and it didnt help me at all

im gonna go back to regular floppy connection

can i maybe add capacitors???

Wouldnt hurt to add caps in parallel with the stock ones.

Wouldnt hurt to add caps in parallel with the stock ones.i guess i have to try that next :/

i wonder if it will OC better with better cooling right now it just has a vga silencer

If you have a SLK laying around, you will get crazy clocks if you mount that thing properly...but of course, it all depends on whether the card is a good clocker or not to begin with...which you know that already.

yes its an insane clocker, the core does 410 on stock cooling, voltage, with the vga silencer and vgpu mod it does 440-445, but i cant run the mem high for sh*t. so cooling isnt a problem, just that the mem clocks drop when the gpu is clocked high.

i modded up a molex with sense points for vgpu, vdd, vddq, vref, so im gonna monitor each, and see if maybe some mem voltage are dropping heavily under load.

Yes, the mem circuitry is this bad!

Wish I could figure out which exact component needs upgrading. Anyways the +3.3 direct to mem mod helps a lot IIRC. Who was it that did that Hell~Fire? Should ask him if his card is still working or not.

i think im gonna try it, should relieve some stress.

Good luck if you do it, let us know results! I think I may have found out how to resurrect my "dead" 9700np.. theres an SMD component that fell off the back I guess, lol :D
