All I have left is the one in my sig, my ex stole my other 3.
I share this one with my daughter so it's only folding about
10 - 12 hours a day. This used to be my benching rig, now it's
for everyday use, haven't been able to upgrade it for over a year,
except for the cpu.

Have you re-done the thermal compound under the chipset heatsink and VRM heatsink? The VRM heatsink compound Asus uses is a joke. It has a bubble gum consistancy and there's just no way it conducts heat that well. The chipset compound is either a hard compound that never really heats up enough to fuse or it's a mixture of that and some normal paste compound that gooped on. ;)
You'll also want to blow some air across these two as they heat up when running full-load.
I absolutely love my PC-DLs. :toast:

ok, just got my celeron back up :D, i think that might push out 30-40 a day :D, at the moment its just in a old motherboard box (with foam at the bottom, and then bolts going through to hold the mobo down, and the hdd has foam under it, but its resting on the pci slots :D and the psu is external, i mean 40c isnt bad for passive :D :D :D
so hopefully, i should be getting about 250-260 a day :D me hopes :D
my dads pc is annoying me, its a 2.8ghz p4, and it would perform quite nicely, but he keeps exiting d2ol, because its making his pc hot :(, i might install it on my sisters in a min which is a 1.7ghz willamette chip with 512mb of rambus :D
im aiming for 300 a day :D

nope, not at all
ive made them all, so they all nice and quite, 2 of them are watercooled (going to watercool my 3rd rig soon) and the cardboard cased celeron is silent :D and the 1ghz hp is quite, so its not that bad
and my room doesnt seem that hot!

Come on, wheres the biscuits then? ;)
Funny you should mention that... I have a box of McVities Milk Chocolate Digestives (http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/biscuits/previous.php3?item=29) enroute from your side of the pond right now. If you want, I can put one or two in an envelope and send it back. ;)

Check the taskmanager and see how much physical memory you have left.

It should have started in the system tray on the first run... after you put in your e-mail.
If you already re-booted or stopped the app in the tray you will need to stop the service and start it up as a normal app...
Go to the service manager (Right click on your My Computer icon on the desktop and select Manage. At the bottom you should see Services...) Stop the XS_D2OL1 service.
Now go to the task manager and stop the Gridwin.exe (or Dockwin.exe) Do it for all of them if you used a multiple node installer (XS_D2OL1, XS_D2OL2 ect.)
Now go to the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL1\D2OL" and open D2OL.exe. this will start it in the sys tray...
Right click on the sys tray icon and select Status. At the top select Statistics.
Here you can see your node ID and your e-mail address.
Do the same in the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL2\D2OL" and so on...
------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
To change setting while it is running as a service just edit the general.prp file in Notepad. It is stored in the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL1\D2OL\res" folder. Make any changes to the same file in the "C:\XS_D2OL\D2OL2\D2OL\res' folder, and so on if you used a multiple node installer.
I need a FAQ for my installers :D

No it did not. The only way I knew it was running was because it showed up in the task manager. I could not set an email or change the preferences. I later uninstalled the service using the uninstall batch file, and then ran the d2OL program itself and found the default email to be --- :) --- and I also found the node number.

lmao... you took the community node!
It's cool... you used the community installer and removed that node from our account... I'm already working on getting the node returned... you cannot have that node. You should have used a personal installer if you wanted your own account.
You will need to repeat the steps listed above to stop the service and start it as a normal task.... before you start it delete the node.prp file out of the /res file (the same folder as the general.prp file)
You may need to change the e-mail address on your D2OL account first. Go here and log in. http://app.d2ol.com/memberServices/memberLogin.jsp Change the e-mail to yours.
When you start the D2OL.exe file it will ask you to register the node... Use your new e-mail address.
You may have seen that you have 3500+ points  that's cuz you have our Community node in your account. Don't worry about moving it back... I'll have the D2OL administration take care of it.
Please do this quickly so your points can start going to your account... and also so i can remove the sensitive info from this post. The node will be moved out of your account and back into the XS_Community account shortly.
Rodzilla
01-18-2005, 08:56 PM
I skipped the red tape and moved the node back myself :hehe:
should be all taken care of on my end... now you just need to make the changes on your end for the e-mail and node.prp...

Rod - currently, your all-in-one batch installer assigns the community node and starts both D2OL and DDaddy as background services - it never starts the D2OL GUI nor asks for an email address. (I've had to uninstall the package to rectify this - hope that node is the team's again!)
Since you're going to have to return the node to XS EVERY time someone runs your batch install, I'd suggest taking them offline until they are fixed . . .
In the meantime, go crazy node hopping!!

The node is the teams again
It sounds like you downloaded the wrong installer ;)
You got a community installer... you need a personal one :D
Serious question... I'm not dogging you. Is the downloads page not clear?
matt9669
01-20-2005, 04:56 PM
I have a better understanding now, but I learned the hard way :D
I'd say yes, the page is somewhat unclear - peeps just trying to get started (like me) are going to see the first option and think that's the easiest way. I understand the idea behind having the community account so peeps can just link up to that node and not have to create an account.
However, when you install the community account, it looks like it's taking it from XS . . .

Installing the community installer doesn’t remove the node... It's when people try and register a new account and claim the node information as there’s... that's how it gets moved.
I'll move the page around a little. Thanks!
Any suggestions on what needs changing?

The only problem with the node thing is it's easy to loose them. I'd say about half of my nodes are inactive.

Yup k7s5a good guess
have you already tried a modded bios to choose between some different fbs-steps (think 100mhz, 112mhz and so on... no 100-101-102- steps... crappy sis-chipset)

Just recently added 2 x sempron 3100 (754) @ stock speed. They will hopefully run 24/7.
I also have setup my dell PIII450 dually server at work so thats slowly buffering up.

Plan On adding
A Barton Machine (12/5)
2x 939 Machines @ 2.5
754 Machine @ 2Ghz
Unfortunatly i wont be running this on my Main Rig due to the Mach 2 GT being a fairly powerhungry thing.
