Which Team is which ?

AS the title says which team is which ? Nothing seems to make any sense.

I have joined as far as I was aware the xtremesystems D20L project as have the following:

Now as far as Im concerned this the right team, yet from assasins post in the nominations this is not the correct team and is in fact Jeffs team. I thought that these were one and the same. :confused: :confused: :confused: If not where is the other team to join ?

PS2pcGamer(his name is also Jeff btw) started what is now the XtremeDC team a while back. Even before everyone got together for "Too Xtreme" in distributed folding. The XtremeDC.org and XtremeFolding.org domains were registered by myself and I'm the one providing the forum for those(they both point to http://www.adventurevision.com/forum/).

This was all started when "the incident" happened a while back where people left to start the other Xtreme forum. A few of us decided to try and stay neutral and created what we refered to as "the island"(which was XtremeFolding.org).

Now... well now I don't know what is going on. And to be honest, I don't really care. I'm having fun with D2OL and ChessBrain so that's all that really matters. If people jump to the XS.org D2OL team then that's fine with me and eventually I'll probably follow.

I've given myself an early New Year's resolution in that I'm giving up caring about online stuff. I'll do what I like to do but I'm no longer going to get involved in any of the "politics".

Are you guys dead set on having the name "XtremeSystems"? Would XtremeDC or Too Xtreme work instead? I'd personally rather have a neutral name. I just want some input.

I wouldn't worry about people being confused with the name Too Xtreme. Everyone in DF knew what forums the team belong too. A lot of guys at OC-AU and other team's forums used XS as much as TX in describing the DF Team.

Like Jeff, I want to stay out of all the political things as much as possible, but I am happy to help out the team anyway I can.

I'm with you, Jeff... i don't get it either :( it's same thing happening as with F@H... JBELL founded XS F@H back in the days when there was only XS and then the forums split, so #3365 is neither considered as XS nor as XR team :confused: just JBELL's team :rolleyes:

And now you guys say that XtremeDC can't be considered XS D2OL team even though it was started by XS members... wth ??? is it not good enough? is it because nobody voted officially for D2OL leader? for me it would be natural for either Jeff or PS2pcGAMER to be the leader... and wth is up with this ONLY xtremesysyems withiun the name???

Personally I don't think the name XtremeDC is a problem... I would only ask that the team url link back to this forum... then I would be happy as a clam! If we do stay on XtremeDC (which I don't see why not) Its main home will be here on XS... hell... we’re getting a server for it. Folding will become more of a priority to XS as a whole. So it should be known that it's an XS team as it will prob be 90% XS members.

Also PS2... can the team leader be changed... that is if you are willing to give up your throne! lol I only ask because we are going to be voting on a new team leader soon...

I removed the XtremeDC URL from the team site. All 3 site URLs are still in the discription so one isn't favored over the other. Does that work?

As for changing the team leader, I'd be up for it, but I honestly have no idea how. I can't remove myself from the team nor can I see an option to appoint someone new. I suppose the next step is to ask them at the official forums, but I am not sure.

Another option would be to create a new team with that leader, and I'd join it as long as it is neutral. Also, if people wanted, who ever is elected the team leader is the actual leader and I am just the guy with access to change the team info. (It isn't like I could do much with it as you control your own points).

Furthermore, could you give us some details about this new server? I am curious for more info. Would it have something like this:

We are a community of 10,000+ members and growing every day. This site caters to many, but is primarily about overclocking and folding. We have an official overclocking team, which is XtremeSystems. We intend to have official folding teams, which will also be XtremeSystems.

What each member decides to do is his own choice. We are not going to ban anyone because they are not folding or overclocking, and we are not going to dictate to anyone where or how to oc or fold.

Official teams that carry the XS name will be promoted. We will set up special servers, run contests, and find sponsors to give away prizes. We will actively recruit for those teams and try our best to take the top spots. That is what Xtreme is all about.

As Admin, we will give 100% to this site. We will not promote other websites. I'm sorry, but our policy is firm in this regard. We don't ask that you agree or disagree with this policy, simply that you respect it. After that, all the choices are yours.

so the best way would be for all XtremeDC members to declare themselves... and forget about XR/XS crap...
those that want to be part of XS D2OL team must transfer to OFFICIAL XS team... those that have some problem with XS being official XS D2OL website to go wherever...
then we'll have OFFICIAL D2OL team consisted from only XS members and friends which has some prospects for future (read - top 10-15). then i will be very happy to switch/join...

Finally ;) I have to agree with everything in the above statement. April is a long time ago. This is a fine forum and its time that we asserted our own identity. We are xtremesystems.org and our teams are just that our teams.

I'm confident that the administration has no problems with people posting and being a member of other forums, however it isnt possible to have folding teams combined across multiple websites. I and many others have expended lots of energy to accomplish this and it just dosnt work.

So lets forget any politics and get behind the xtremesystems.org teams.

yeah, why hand over the password to somebody else? then youd probably have to register a new account to just fold for the team as whoever wins will then use your account to fold and be the team leader. heheheh mark, you want the team to stay because you opened it, eh? :D if it means that much to you im sure we can keep it and just hand over the password or maybe ask the D²OL admins to make somebody else the team captain when the vote is over :)

I believe I asked Assassin to start the official D2OL team for XS, so that it was set up when members were ready to join. Again, there are no hidden motives here.

I think the captain is the owner... that's the way it looks to me at least.

I don't think it's necessary to change anything just yet Assasin. We will get all sorted out very quickly when the team leader is voted in. Then that person and you can get it worked out.
